MLB Wednesday betting picks & parlay plays – American League

There are 15 Major League Baseball (MLB) games scheduled for Wednesday, with every team in action on June 15. There are six American League games, six National League games, and three interleague games scheduled. Here are the best bets on the games featuring American League teams, starting at 1:05pm ET.

Los Angeles Angels (+170) @ Los Angeles Dodgers (-200)

The Battle for Los Angeles (sort of) has the Dodgers’ Tyler Anderson going against the Angels’ Reid Detmers. Anderson has been a horse, going 7-0 with a 3.07 ERA and 1.02 WHIP, striking out 55 in 58.2 innings pitched. But he’s struggled with the Angels, who are 16-of-43 with six extra-base hits, good for a 1.450 OPS.

Shohei Ohtani has only gone three-for-three with two triples and a homer, so any prop bet on him to have between two and six total bases is probably a good one. That does represent half of the extra-base hits the Angels have against Anderson, however, and this Mr. Anderson is more like Neo from The Matrix.

Reid Detmers has been effective this season, going 2-2 with a 3.83 ERA and impressive 1.01 WHIP despite striking out just 32 batters in 49.1 innings pitched. The Dodgers are mostly unfamiliar with him, so he has that going for him. Trea Turner has the only extra-base hit for the Dodgers in 13 of the team’s at-bats.


Stay away from betting the first five innings in this one, as Detmers and the Angels could very well lead going into the sixth. But expect the Dodgers’ relievers (ranked ninth in MLB with a 3.52 ERA) to out-pitch the Angels’ bullpen (23rd in MLB with a 4.27 ERA) in the late innings. Take the Dodgers on the moneyline.

Baltimore Orioles (+200) @ Toronto Blue Jays (-250)

Jose Berrios is getting to the time of year when he becomes a machine. Historically a slow starter, likely due to the cold weather at the beginning of the MLB season, Berrios gets hotter as the weather does. In his last two starts, he’s gone a total of 15 innings, allowed three runs, and struck out 18 batters. Both were wins for Toronto.

Berrios especially enjoys pitching against Baltimore, too. The Orioles are just 12-of-47 with five doubles and a homer against Berrios. That’s just a .683 OPS against, and most of that is due to Trey Mancini, who has half of the hits and three of the team’s five doubles. Bet on him to have multiple total bases in this one. Cedric Mullins might also be worthy of the same player prop bet. He’s four-for-10 with the other two doubles.

Expect Toronto to lead after five innings played, and take the Blue Jays on the moneyline. Parlaying the Blue Jays and Dodgers on the moneyline pays +110 with Bovada.

Seattle Mariners (+115) @ Minnesota Twins (-135)

The Minnesota Twins really enjoy hitting off of Marco Gonzales. Byron Buxton, who just set the record for most home runs hit between double plays, is as hot as the sun. He’s also four-of-seven with a double and three dingers against Gonzales. Bet on him to have between three and six multiple bases on Wednesday.

Buxton isn’t the only Minnesota batter who crushes Gonzales, however. Even without Buxton, the Twins are 17-for-60 with four doubles and two homers, and those six extra-base hits were hit by six different batters. The team OPS against Gonzales is 1.311, so Sonny Gray won’t have to be great for Minnesota to win the first five innings or the game. Take Minnesota, and make your moneyline parlay a trifecta for +265 odds.
