American League MLB betting picks & top odds – Thursday, June 9

MLB best bets

There are 11 Major League Baseball (MLB) games scheduled for Thursday, June 9, with four American League games, five National League games, and two interleague games on the slate. Here are the best bets on the games featuring American League teams scheduled for Thursday, starting at 12:35pm ET.

Los Angeles Dodgers (-120) @ Chicago White Sox (+100)

Any bet on the Dodgers’ Tyler Anderson is a smart bet. He’s 7-0 with a 2.59 ERA and 0.95 WHIP this season. The White Sox are 10-of-48 against him, with AJ Pollock doing most of the damage. He’s got five of Chicago’s 10 hits, with two of them going for extra bases. A player prop bet on him to collect multiple total bases might cash.

Dylan Cease starts for Chicago on Thursday. He’s been fine this season, with a 3.39 ERA and 1.29 WHIP, striking out an astounding 81 batters, which is third-most in MLB. The Dodgers are completely unfamiliar with him, but Los Angeles strikes out seldomly (ninth-fewest in MLB). The Dodgers are also sixth in hitting (.249 team batting average) and number one in OPS (.755).

Take Los Angeles to win the game by at least two runs.

Oakland Athletics (+150) @ Cleveland Guardians (-172.41)

Oakland starter James Kaprielian is 0-3 with a 6.06 ERA and 1.35 WHIP, but the Guardians are mostly unfamiliar with him. They’re three-of-nine with a double against Kaprielian, with Luke Maile collecting the double.

Going for Cleveland will be Konnor Pilkington, who’s 1-0 with a 2.65 ERA and 1.59 WHIP in three starts and 17 innings pitched. He’s struck out 23 batters in those 17 innings. Behind him is the fifth best bullpen in baseball. The Guardians have a 3.15 ERA after the sixth inning. Their hitters also strike out at the lowest rate in baseball.

Take Cleveland on the moneyline and to win by two or more.

New York Yankees (-155) @ Minnesota Twins (+135)

Gerrit Cole goes for New York in Minnesota on Thursday, and he, like most Yankees, have given the Twins fits. Twins hitters are just 10-for-43 against Cole, with just four extra-base hits. Carlos Correa, unsurprisingly, has the most success against Cole, going two-for-five. Cole’s former catcher, Gary Sanchez, is also two-for-three with a double.

Dylan Bundy will start for the Twins, who have struggled to field a healthy team lately. They got Correa back on Wednesday, but the starting rotation is decimated, and the bullpen has been overworked as a result. Bundy is 3-3 with a 5.57 ERA and 1.45 WHIP, and the Yankees will be comfortable in the batters’ boxes.

New York has 29 hits off Bundy in 112 at-bats, with 10 going for extra bases. You might want to place a player prop bet on Aaron Judge to have multiple total bases and maybe a home run. He’s five-for-19 against Bundy with three dingers and a double. Twin-for-a-day Isiah Kiner-Falefa is six-for-16 with a homer, and Marwin Gonzalez is four-of-11 with a double.

Expect the Yankees to win by more than one run. Parlay them with Cleveland and Los Angeles on the moneyline and against the spread.
