Betfred Sports joins Arizona mobile betting market

Betfred sports betting news

Betfred Sports is now available to bettors across the state of Arizona.

The British operator rolled out its mobile sports betting app in the jurisdiction on Monday after successfully running a soft launch of the product late last month.

Betfred Sports gained market access in Arizona through a partnership with the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation. The Native Indian tribe owns We Ko Pa Casino Resort in Fort McDowell, and it was one of 18 entities awarded a combined sports betting license by the Arizona Department of Gaming. The two entities announced their partnership in early August.

Announcing the launch, We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort General Manager Mary Ketterling said: “Three months ago, the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort and Betfred Sports introduced sports betting kiosks at our beautiful desert gaming destination and most recently opened a temporary full-service sportsbook. Adding mobile apps is one more way we can offer Arizonans an easy, user-friendly, and unparalleled sports betting experience.”

In addition to the mobile sports wagering app, We-Ko-Pa casino also offers in-person betting at its WKP Sportsbook Lounge. The temporary location, which also features a bar and food service, opens from 11am to 9pm, Thursday through Sunday. The casino also features eight self-service betting kiosks in the WKP Sports and Entertainment sports bar and throughout the casino floor. The self-service terminals are operational 24/7.

A new state-of-the-art sportsbook is also set to open at the casino in summer.

Expanding the Betfred experience

Betfred Sports COO Bryan Bennet also issued a statement to mark the brand’s debut in the Arizona sports betting industry.

“I could not be more excited to expand our Betfred Sport betting apps into the Arizona market,” said Bennet.

“We look forward to offering customers in the entire state unique experiences that they can’t access on any other platform. Our team has worked diligently to bring this to fruition.”

The new Betfred Sports-branded mobile sportsbook app is available on the Play Store and App Store. The operator is rewarding all its new customers with an array of welcome bonuses worth up to $3,000.

Betfred is the 14th online operator app to officially launch in the Grand Canyon State since the industry got off the ground in September. The brand now joins BetMGM, DraftKings, Caesars, BetRivers FanDuel, WynnBet, Bally Bet, Barstool, Fubo Sportsbook, Super Book, Unibet, TwinSpires, and SaharaBets Sportsbook.

Sixth US state for Betfred

Following the successful rollout in Arizona, Betfred Sports is now legal in six US states.

The operator first entered the country’s regulated sports betting market in January 2020 following the opening of a retail sportsbook at the Grand Falls Casino and Golf Resort in Larchwood, Iowa. The company then launched its digital sportsbook apps in Iowa and Colorado on September 10, 2020. The brand’s license in Colorado is tethered to Saratoga Casino in Black Hawk.

Since then, Betfred has gone live in Pennsylvania via a partnership with Wind Creek Casino Bethlehem, and the operator also runs physical sportsbooks at tribal-owned gaming establishments in Louisiana and Washington State. The company also plans to introduce its offering to bettors in Nevada and Virginia as soon as it is approved by the regulators in these jurisdictions.
