Betway joins Iowa sports betting market

Betway news

Super Group, the holding company for leading online sports betting and online gaming operator Betway, announced on Thursday that the brand had extended its footprint to Iowa after receiving clearance from the state regulator.

The sportsbook, which is operated by Digital Gaming Corporation (DGC), secured market access in Iowa via a license agreement deal with Diamond Jo Casino. Betway is the second sports betting app to team up with the Boyd Gaming-owned facility for online operations in the Hawkeye State after FanDuel.

The Iowa launch is the fifth for the sportsbook since the operator is already live in New Jersey, Indiana, Colorado, and Pennsylvania.

The brand now joins 15 other online licensees in Iowa’s fast-growing Iowa regulated wagering market. The other licensed apps in the state include DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, FanDuel, Bally Bet, Fubo, theScore Bet, PointsBet, Unibet, Circa Sports, Elite Sportsbook, BetRivers, Betfred, Hard Rock, and Q Sportsbook.

Operator also secure another European betting license

In addition to the Iowa launch, Betway also announced that it had secured a license that would allow it to enter yet another regulated market in Europe.

The operator has received approval from Polish authorities to offer internet gambling services in the jurisdiction, which means that residents of Poland can now look forward to enjoying Betway’s premium offering.

Announcing the new licenses, Richard Hasson, the President and Chief Operating Officer of Super Group, said that the milestone is proof of the company’s commitment to introduce the Betway brand to players worldwide.

“We are delighted to further Betway’s US presence with the addition of another live market there, as well as enhance our formidable competitive position in Europe with the new license in Poland,” said Hasson.

“This progress illustrates our focus and execution as we bring Betway, the premier and unified global online sports betting brand, to customers across markets and around the world.”

The brand is among the leading bookmakers in the European market, and it is known for its solid and competitive odds prices across all sports. Betway also boasts a brilliant in-play wagering product with plenty of betting markets. In addition to online sports betting, Betway also offers igaming in various regulated markets.

Examples of countries where the brand has an online presence include the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Germany, South Africa, and the United States.

Super Group targets more international launches

In its press statement on Wednesday, Super Group also revealed that it was working on securing market access and regulatory approval in several US states and outside the country. The company said that it has plans to debut in additional new markets this year, and that the launches would continue into next year.

“Heading into 2022, we expect the pipeline of new market expansion to be active and to continue both internationally and in the US, where the acquisition of DGC provides us access to a group of eleven states. In our core geographies, we continue to thrive with market leading positions, scale and financial flexibility, operating a proven, cash generative business,” said Hasson.

Super Group announced that it would be acquiring Digital Gaming Corporation (DGC) in April this year as part of its strategy to expand its footprint in the regulated US market. The agreement gave DGC exclusive rights to use the Betway brand and handle the company’s operations in the country, where it has market access in more than 10 states.
