The first of the 2019 Cricket World Cup semi-finals features two teams in very different situations.

Australia’s loss to South Africa saw India finish top of the group stage with their win over Sri Lanka on Saturday.

KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma both stroked centuries in that game as the Indians chased down 264 with seven wickets and 6.3 overs to spare.

The weekend results have launched Virat Kohli’s men into outright favouritism at +175 in the title betting at Nags.bet.

While India enter the semis with a head of steam, New Zealand (+800 to win CWC) are down to nothing but embers.

The Black Caps set the early pace at England & Wales 2019 but only just scraped into the last four after losing three games on the bounce.

The lack of batting depth is a serious concern for NZ, who rely heavily of the runs of Kane Williamson and desperately need the openers to start contributing.

Both Williamson and Ross Taylor were run out in the 119-run loss to England last time out, leaving keeper-bat Tom Latham to play a lone hand as Mark Wood ran through the tail.

The Kiwis will have to find some form quick-smart if they hope to reach the ICC World Cup final for the second time in succession.

India vs New Zealand top batsman odds

Rohit Sharma – +210 at Nags.bet

Few players have ever achieved the kind of form that Rohit is in right now. The Indian opener has hit three tons in a row and five for the tournament, so who else are you going to back for top runscorer?

Kane Williamson – +220 at Nags.bet

As with Rohit, Williamson’s record speaks for itself. The NZ captain has made around 30 per cent of his team’s runs at this tournament and will have to bat the majority of the innings if the underdogs are to have any chance.

India vs New Zealand top bowler betting

Mohammed Shami – +333 at Nags.bet

Shami’s omission for the Sri Lanka clash raised a few eyebrows, but it is expected he will get the nod over Bhuvneshwar Kumar on Tuesday. The 29-year-old Bengal seamer has 14 wickets in four CWC games, so there is no doubting the form.

Lockie Ferguson – +300 at Nags.bet

Also left out for the final round of group games, Ferguson is an automatic inclusion for the semis after Tim Southee copped hiding from England. The Auckland quick has 17 wickets for the tournament and will add to that tally at Old Trafford.

India to win/Rohit Sharma top scorer – +300 at Nags.bet

There are no glaring weaknesses in this India team. Their batting is always explosive and their bowling has improved out of sight in the past decade, so New Zealand will have to do something extraordinary to beat them.
