FanDuel to enter Washington betting market with Suquamish tribe

Washington gambling news

Flutter Entertainment’s FanDuel Sportsbook is coming to the Evergreen State, thanks to the operator’s latest agreement with the Suquamish Indian Tribe.

This week, the company announced that it had secured a deal that would see it enter the newly regulated Washington State sports betting market via a partnership with Port Madison Enterprises, the economic development arm of the federally recognized Suquamish Tribe.

Under the terms of the contract, FanDuel will run a retail sportsbook at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort, which sits on the spectacular Kitsap Peninsula. The FanDuel-branded sports betting lounge will have 12 self-service wagering terminals and three live windows for those who will require the help of a ticket writer when placing bets.

The lounge will also feature 17 television screens and a seating area where patrons can relax and watch live sports.

FanDuel and Port Madison Enterprises have also announced plans to set up three self-service betting kiosks in the facility’s Beach Rock Music and Sports Lounge. The amenities in the lounge include 11 HD televisions, including a 24.5’ X 11.5’ screen, and a seating area with a capacity of 250 people.

The FanDuel Sportsbook at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino will open this fall.

Suquamish Tribe ‘excited’ to enter Washington betting market

Port Madison Enterprises has welcomed its latest partnership with FanDuel Group with great enthusiasm.

In its official statement about the deal, Port Madison Enterprises said that the Suquamish Tribe is excited to team up with FanDuel for its retail sports wagering offering, and that it is looking forward to becoming the leading destination for sports betting in the Evergreen State.

“We are excited to partner with FanDuel, America’s #1 Sportsbook, and to be their exclusive partner in Washington State,” said the CEO of Port Madison Enterprises Rion Ramirez.

“We are looking forward to offering wagering at our property for the first time and to making the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort Washington’s premier destination for sports betting and the best game-day experience for all our casino guests,” added Greg George, President of Port Madison Enterprises Board.

In another statement, Suquamish Tribe Chairman Leonard Forsman said that the additional revenue generated by sports betting would go a long way in helping the tribe to fund important governmental projects.

“We are so pleased with the recent addition of sports wagering to our gaming compact, making sports betting legal in the state for the first time. Revenue from sports wagering will help support the Suquamish Tribe’s important governmental services offered to both tribal members and the local non-tribal community,” stated Forsman.

The Suquamish Tribe is one of the 12 tribes cleared to offer sports wagering in Washington State by the US Department of the Interior.

IGT secures another Washington State sports betting deal

In other news, globally acclaimed games developer and platform provider International Game Technology (IGT) has entered into an agreement with the Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians of Washington.

The partnership, which was announced on Tuesday, will see the developer deploy its PlaySports platform to power on-site mobile betting and retail wagering at the tribe’s Angel Of The Winds Casino Resort in Arlington.

Commenting on the latest agreement, IGT has said that it is thrilled to add the Arlington facility to its growing list of clients, adding that its PlaySports software is designed to provide operators with maximum flexibility and help them deliver a seamless and exciting sports betting experience to players.

The deal marks the second sports betting agreement for IGT in the Evergreen State, since the company has a similar deal with Snoqualmie casino. The Snoqualmie Tribe-owned establishment was the first to book legal wagers in Washington State when it opened its retail sportsbook to players on September 9.
