MLB American League best bets & parlay picks – Tuesday, June 14

MLB best bets

All 30 Major League Baseball (MLB) teams are playing on Tuesday, with 16 games scheduled for June 14. Pittsburgh and St. Louis will play two of the five National League games, and there are six American League games and five interleague games scheduled. Here are the best bets on the games featuring American League teams scheduled for Tuesday, starting at 1:15pm ET.

Oakland Athletics (+175) @ Boston Red Sox (-210)

Jared Koenig’s first start for Oakland did not go well. He allowed five hits and four runs in four innings pitched against Atlanta on Wednesday. Boston will be as unfamiliar with Koenig as Atlanta was, and they’ll enjoy playing at home in the tin can that is Fenway Park.

Oakland batters have gotten a glimpse of Nick Pivetta, but haven’t gotten much to show for it. Stephen Vogt has the only home run the A’s have off Pivetta, and it came in his only at-bat against him. The rest of the team is three-for-42 with two doubles and 16 strikeouts. Pivetta has been relatively reliable for the Red Sox, going 5-5 with a 3.78 ERA and a WHIP just outside the top 30 in MLB (1.14).

Bet on Pivetta and Boston to have the lead after five innings and to win on the moneyline.

Cleveland Guardians (-140) @ Colorado Rockies (+120)

Cleveland’s rock, Shane Bieber, is projected to start. He’ 3-3 with a 2.91 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with 68 strikeouts in 65 innings pitched. The four Rockies with at-bats against him have not fared well, either. They’re a combined two-for-21 with no extra-base hits and a .156 OPS.

Colorado has Antonio Senzatela scheduled to start, who’s 2-3 with a 4.83 ERA and 1.85 WHIP. He’s surprisingly been a lot better playing in the thin air of Denver (3.76 ERA) than he has been on the road (6.75 ERA), but a few Guardians look to be comfortable in the batters’ boxes against Senzatela. Amed Rosario is three-for-six with two doubles and Jose Ramirez is two-for-five. That’s likely due to Senzatela struggling with right handed batters. He’s allowed a .980 OPS against righties this season, so expect Cleveland’s righties to be swinging for the fences and getting a boost from the mountain air.

Take Cleveland in the first five innings and on the moneyline. Parlaying the Guardians with the Red Sox on the moneyline pays +153 with Bovada.

Baltimore Orioles (+160) @ Toronto Blue Jays (-190)

Many of the Blue Jays’ batters have enjoyed their few at-bats against Baltimore’s Jordan Lyles. Toronto has five homers and two doubles off Lyle over 51 at-bats, good for a 1.115 OPS. Matt Chapman has done the bulk of the damage, going four-of-15 with a double and two homers. Bet on him to have multiple total bases in this one.

Yusei Kikuchi will start for Toronto, who has handled Baltimore batters. He’s allowed just one homer and two doubles in 31 at-bats against the Orioles, which adds up to a .663 OPS against. Kikuchi is better at home than on the road, so expect him to keep Baltimore’s offense to four runs or less. That should be enough for Toronto to have the lead after five and after nine.

Take Toronto in the first five innings and to win on the moneyline. Add them to your moneyline parlay featuring Boston and Cleveland for +286 odds.
