MLB American League betting picks & parlay odds – Friday, June 3

MLB best bets

Another full slate of games in MLB is scheduled for Friday, with seven American League games, seven National League games, and one interleague game between the Angels and Phillies. Here are the best bets on the games featuring American League teams scheduled for Friday, starting at 2:20pm ET.

Detroit Tigers (+290) @ New York Yankees (-384.62)

Gerrit Cole will go for the Yankees at home against the Tigers, who have not fared well against Cole despite seeing plenty of him. Detroit batters are 17-for-79 with just three extra-base hits and a .428 OPS against Cole.

Jeimer Candelario is the only Tiger you should expect to have success against Cole on Friday. He’s four-of-nine with a double and 1.101 OPS against Cole in his career. A player prop bet on Candelario to collect multiple total bases or multiple hits would be a good bet that pays well.

Starting for Detroit is 24-year-old Elvin Rodriguez, who has a 6.17 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in just 11.2 innings pitched. He’s allowed two home runs in his three appearances, and pitching in New Yankee Stadium against the slugging pinstripers will likely add at least one more dinger to that total on Friday.

Expect the Yankees to roll. Take New York in the first five innings, on the moneyline, and to win by at least two runs.

Boston Red Sox (-135) @ Oakland Athletics (+115)

James Kaprielian will start for Oakland at home against the Red Sox, and despite his 5.93 ERA and 1.35 WHIP this season, he’s actually had some success against the Red Sox. Boston batters are just six-off-31 against Kaprielian, with two doubles and an OPS of .483. Alex Verdugo is two-of-four against Kaprielian with both of those doubles, so bet on him to collect multiple total bases in this one.

Going for Boston is Nathan Eovaldi, who has been quite good this season (3.77 ERA and 1.12 WHIP) and even better against the A’s. Oakland batters are just 1-for-29 with one home run and a .211 OPS against Eovaldi.

Expect Boston to roll. Take the Red Sox in the first five innings, on the moneyline, and to win by at least two runs. Parlay each of those bets with bets on the Yankees for better odds.

Houston Astros (-135) @ Kansas City Royals (+115)

Jose Urquidy hasn’t been great for Houston this season, but hasn’t had to be. He’s 4-2 despite a 4.80 ERA and 1.58 WHIP. But Houston hitters are running into Brady Singer, who is 2-0 with a 2.49 ERA and 0.99 WHIP.

Houston hitters have also struggled to slug against Singer. Astros batters are just six-of-34 against Singer and have failed to collect a single extra-base hit. Singer has 10 strikeouts in his appearances against the Astros with an opponent OPS of just .425.

Take the underdog Royals in the first five innings and on the moneyline. They are one of the best scoring teams in MLB after the sixth inning, after all.
