Monday’s MLB betting picks & top parlay plays – July 11, 2022

MLB best bets

Major League Baseball (MLB) plays just 10 games this Monday, with Max Scherzer and Max Fried taking the mound in Atlanta, Jose Ramirez and the Guardians going to Chicago, and the Diamondbacks slithering into San Francisco. Here are the best bets on MLB games scheduled for July 11, starting at 2:10pm ET.

New York Mets (+100) @ Atlanta Braves (-120)

Max Scherzer returns from a rehab stint to start for the Mets in Atlanta, against whom he’s held to a .663 OPS over 144 at-bats. Ronald Acuna Jr. has seven hits in 20 at-bats against Scherzer, with a double, a triple, and two dingers, so definitely bet on him to have multiple total bases on Monday. Marcell Ozuna is also 11-of-41 with five doubles and two dingers, so do with that what you will.

Going for Atlanta will be Max Fried, who has absolutely stifled the Mets. In exactly the same number of at-bats Scherzer has against the Braves, Fried has held New York to just 38 hits, with only five going for extra-bases (all doubles). That’s a .514 OPS.

Take Atlanta in the first five innings and on the moneyline. The Braves have the better bullpen when it comes to WHIP and ERA.

Arizona Diamondbacks (+140) @ San Francisco Giants (-165)

Merrill Kelly is expected to start for Arizona, and many of the Giants have enjoyed their plate appearances against him. San Francisco batters have gone 30-for-124 against Kelly with 13 extra-base hits for a .714 OPS. Brandon Crawford has nine of those hits, including three doubles. You might consider placing a player prop bet on him to have multiple total bases on Monday.

The Giants counter with Alex Cobb, who has limited Arizona’s extra-base hits against him. While the Diamondbacks are hitting .326 off Cobb in 31 at-bats, they have just three doubles to show for it. The Giants also have the better bullpen based on ERA and WHIP, and a much better team OPS.

Take San Francisco in the first five innings and on the moneyline. Parlaying the Giants and Braves on the moneyline pays +204 with Bovada.

Detroit Tigers (+123) @ Kansas City Royals (-151.52)

Hunter Dozier is four-of-eight with two doubles and two dingers against projected Tigers starter Michael Pineda for game one of a doubleheader on Monday. Definitely bet on him to have multiple total bases on Monday, and you might also consider placing the same bet on Whit Merrifield, who is five-for-17 with a double and a homer.

Chicago White Sox (-120) @ Cleveland Guardians (+100)

Jose Ramirez is six-for-17 with a double and three dingers against projected White Sox starter Lance Lynn. Bet on him to have multiple total bases on Monday. You might also consider taking Cleveland in the first five innings and on the moneyline. The Guardians are 21-for-81 with 10 extra-base hits against Lynn.

Cleveland’s projected starter, Cal Quantrill, has managed to limit Chicago’s extra-base hits against him. While the White Sox are 19-for-70, just four have gone for extra bases, adding up to a .692 OPS. Cleveland also has the better bullpen when it comes to ERA and WHIP.

Parlaying Cleveland on the moneyline with Atlanta and San Francisco pays +493.
