Mumbai Indians are back in business in the 2025 IPL, defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by four wickets at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday night to claim their second straight win and move within striking distance of the top two.

Pre-match favorites at most IPL betting sites, MI overcame a sluggish start to control both innings, with English import Will Jacks named player of the match for a composed all-round performance.

Jacks finished with 2/14 from three overs on a sticky Mumbai pitch and later anchored the run chase with a handy 36 from 26 balls as Mumbai chased down 163 with 11 balls to spare.

Sunrisers were slow out of the blocks but still put together a 59-run opening stand through Abhishek Sharma (40 off 28) and Travis Head (28 off 29).

However, a flurry of middle-order wickets slowed their momentum significantly, with Nitish Kumar Reddy’s measured 19 off 21 proving too slow for the moment.

Heinrich Klaasen (37 off 28) and Aniket Verma (18 off 8) added some spark at the death, but 162/5 never felt like enough.

Live odds at Nags.bet swung hard in Mumbai’s favor as Ryan Rickelton (31) and Rohit Sharma (26) put on 45 inside four overs.

Despite minor collapses at 121/2 to 128/4 and 162/4 to 162/6, the hosts got home comfortably, with support from Suryakumar Yadav (26 off 15), *Tilak Varma (21)**, and Hardik Pandya (21 off 9) sealing the deal in 18.1 overs.

Afterwards, Pandya praised the team’s bowling for setting up the win.

“The way we bowled was very smart and spot on. We stuck to simple basic plans,” he said.

“We decided to use change-of-pace balls, and we executed the yorkers very smartly.”

The result sees MI climb to sixth on the ladder, just two points off second place, and firm to +500 in outright IPL betting at Nags.bet.

RCB and Delhi Capitals remain $5 co-favorites, while SRH slide further back in the market after another unconvincing performance.
