Fubo Gaming launches mobile sportsbook in Arizona

Fubo

Fubo Sportsbook is the latest entrant in the nascent Arizona sports betting market. The brand went live in the Grand Canyon State on Monday, making it the company’s second operational market in the United States.

The sportsbook’s operator, Fubo Gaming, gained access to Arizona through an agreement with the Ak-Chin Indian Community. The Arizona Department of Gaming signed off on the partnership in August, and consequently awarded the entities a permit to operate an online sportsbook in the state. The Ak-Chin Indian Community owns the Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino in Maricopa, although the facility is operated by Caesars Entertainment.

Following the Monday launch, Fubo Sportsbook is now the 12th sportsbook to offer online and mobile sports betting in Arizona.

The rollout comes less than four days after SuperBook Sports started taking online wagers in the state. The SBOpco LLC-owned sportsbook started booking online wagers in Arizona on Friday after receiving approval from the state regulators. SuperBook has partnered with the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe and Spirit Mountain Casino for its sports betting operations in the Grand Canyon State.

In addition to the two newly launched apps, the other brands available to bettors in the state include DraftKings, BetMGM, FanDuel, Caesars, Unibet, BetRivers, Bally Bet, WynnBet, Barstool Sportsbook, and TwinSpires.

Fubo Gaming delighted to enter second US market

Arizona is Fubo Sportsbook’s second active state in the ever-growing US sports betting industry.

The brand made its debut in the country’s regulated sports wagering scene in September when it launched in-person wagering at Casino Queen Marquette in Iowa. In early November, Fubo Gaming rolled out its mobile betting app in the state, marking its first online market in the US.

Commenting on the recent launch, the President of Fubo Gaming, Scott Butera, said that the company was delighted with the milestone and that it was looking forward to growing its presence in the American market.

“We are honored to partner with our first Native American tribe, the Ak-Chin Indian Community, to launch our market-defining sportsbook within the great state of Arizona,” said Butera.

“In less than a year of establishing Fubo Gaming, we brought our sports betting platform to passionate sports communities across two states and look forward to continuing introducing our unique product to many more consumers.”

David Gandler, the co-founder and CEO of fuboTV, added: “Fubo Sportsbook is a major pillar in fuboTV’s mission to integrate interactivity into our live TV streaming platform and define a new category of interactive sports and entertainment television.

“I’m very proud of how quickly the Fubo Gaming team has brought Fubo Sportsbook to market: from our announcement to expand into online sports wagering to the launch of Fubo Sportsbook in Arizona, our second state, all in the same year.”

In addition to Iowa and Arizona, the sportsbook has market access agreements in Indiana and New Jersey with Caesars Entertainment, as well as a multi-year deal that could see it launch in Pennsylvania via partnership with Cordish Companies.

Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino is now taking in-person sports bets

In addition to launching mobile betting with Fubo Gaming, the Ak-Chin Indian community also rolled out retail sports wagering at its casino in Maricopa last week through a partnership with Caesars.

The temporary Caesars sportsbook opened on Thursday with Caesars Rewards members Joseph and Billie Butkiewicz placing the first ceremonial bets. The book, which is located next to the Live Keno area, features two betting windows and four self-service kiosks.

The self-service betting kiosks are operational round-the-clock, while the live windows are open from 10 am to 10 pm Monday through Thursday, 10 am to 11 pm on Fridays, and 8 am to 11 pm on weekends.

The sportsbook at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino is Caesars’ second retail wagering venue in Arizona. The company also operates betting kiosks at Chase Field Plaza, and is on schedule to open a state-of-the-art sportsbook dubbed Caesars Chase Field inside the venue sometime next year.
