2019 FedEx Cup Playoffs betting tips – The Northern Trust

Brooks Koepka will start as the +800 favourite at Bovada in the outright betting for The Northern Trust, which kicks off Thursday, August 8 in New Jersey.

This year’s PGA Championship winner headlines a ripper field consisting of 122 of the top 125 players in the FedEx Cup rankings.

Other notable starters include Adam Scott (+3000), who won this event at Liberty National back in 2013, and defending champion Bryson DeChambeau (+4000).

The tournament is being played at the Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey, which despite being built on a landfill, is one expensive projects undertaken. The club has few members but has plenty of high-profile ones including movie star Samuel L. Jackson and Justin Timberlake.

Brook Koepka to win – If Koepka decides he wants to win this thing, he probably will. There is nothing wrong with the big Floridian’s form and none of his chief rivals are firing on all cylinders, so it is easy to see why Bovada has him pegged as the +800 favourite.

Justin Rose to finish top 10 – There are a few players who always seem to lift at this point in the PGA Tour season, and Rose is one of them. He finished top 10 in all four FedEx Cup Playoff events in 2017 and won the whole thing a year later, so +250 at Bovada for another top 10 is worth a crack.

Marc Leishman for top Australian player – With Adam Scott’s form dropping off and Jason Day struggling for consistency, Leishman looms as the best of the Australian chances this week. He finished third behind Koepka at the Bridgestone and offers good value at +333 for top Aussie with Bovada.
