Formula 1 returns to one of its most legendary circuits this week as the 2025 season heads to Spa-Francorchamps for the Belgian Grand Prix.
Spa is a fan and driver favorite, offering long straights, sweeping corners, unpredictable weather, and now the added spice of a sprint weekend. It’s the perfect stage to shake up the title race heading into the second half of the season.
The action begins with Practice 1 at 12:30pm CEST on Friday, July 25, followed by sprint qualifying at 4:30pm. The sprint race kicks off at 12pm on Saturday, with grand prix qualifying at 4pm that afternoon. The Belgian GP main race is scheduled for 3pm on Sunday, July 27.
The championship battle is heating up, and McLaren once again lead the way. Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris sit atop the betting markets with leading sportsbooks; the Australian, in particular, has looked increasingly comfortable in pressure situations and will fancy his chances of a win at Spa.
Max Verstappen is slightly off the boil this season but can never be ruled out — especially at a home venue where he’s won multiple times. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton remain in the mix, while Mercedes and Aston Martin will hope Spa’s weather plays to their strengths.
With a wet race always possible at Spa and the sprint format increasing risk and reward, this weekend promises chaos and opportunity throughout the grid.
Norris and Piastri share favoritism for the 2025 Belgian Grand Prix, with Verstappen not far behind. Ferrari and Mercedes drivers make up the chasing pack.

The racecraft of Oscar Piastri has been outstanding in recent rounds, and Spa’s blend of high-speed corners and technical sectors plays to McLaren’s strengths. If he can deliver a clean sprint qualifying and secure a front-row start, he’ll be tough to reel in across the weekend. Coming off a frustrating British GP, expect Piastri to be as sharp and hungry as we’ve ever seen.
Lance Stroll returns to one of his better circuits with a chance to impress, especially if the rain comes. The Aston Martin car has looked better at power circuits, and if weather or sprint incidents shake up the order, Stroll could be the one to benefit.
Yuki Tsunoda has the equipment to challenge for top-10 spots consistently. His aggression suits Spa’s overtaking zones, and with so many sprint and race laps to play with, he’s a great value tip for a Sunday points finish.
