Hamlin takes pole at Pocono ahead of Buescher and Hocevar. Check the updated NASCAR odds, full grid, and our betting predictions for Sunday’s race.
The NASCAR Cup Series returns to the “Tricky Triangle” this Sunday for the 2025 Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono Raceway — a unique, high-speed, three-turn test of driver courage and engineering balance. As the playoffs draw near, this race represents a critical inflection point with just 10 events left in the regular season.
Denny Hamlin reaffirmed his mastery of Pocono on Saturday by grabbing his 44th career pole, clocking in at 172.599 mph to edge Chris Buescher by 0.083 seconds with the top online sportsbooks marking him as the favorite to win. The Joe Gibbs Racing veteran leads all drivers with seven Pocono wins, including two in the Next Gen era, and he’ll start P1 as he looks to add an eighth on Sunday at 2pm ET (Amazon Prime, MRN, SiriusXM).
Hamlin’s pole run headlines a Toyota-heavy front row, with Ty Gibbs (P7), Tyler Reddick (P8), Christopher Bell (P9), and Daniel Suarez (P10) also qualifying strong. Meanwhile, defending race winner Ryan Blaney starts back in 20th, and William Byron will roll off 31st after crashing in qualifying and moving to a backup car.

Seven wins. Forty-four poles. The King of Pocono is back on top of the grid and locked in for a statement run after missing Mexico City for the birth of his son. This No.11 Toyota looks dialed in after adjustments between practice and qualifying, and with clean air, Hamlin can control the race from start to finish. The +350 at Stake.com is short — but still fair given the track record.
Starting seventh and surrounded by Toyotas, Gibbs looks primed to break through with a top-tier result. He’s been strong here in the Xfinity and ARCA ranks, ran top-five pace in last year’s race before mechanical issues, and now enters off a hot streak of speed and composure. Joe Gibbs Racing owns Pocono, and this could be the race where Gibbs cements his playoff credentials. Take +250 with 888starz for a top-five result.
Don’t let the starting spot (P14) or his poor season standings fool you — Keselowski is always a factor at Pocono. His 10.8 average finish is second-best among active drivers, and he’s landed 12 top-10s in his last 16 starts here. RFK has rediscovered form on flatter ovals, and with clean strategy, Brad is a sneaky top-10 lock. Grab -116.28 at Stake.com while it lasts.
