Arsenal secured a vital 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the North London Derby at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night, reigniting their Premier League title hopes.
After being eliminated from the FA Cup over the weekend, Arsenal responded with determination. However, Spurs struck first in the 25th minute when Heung-Min Son’s deflected shot slipped past David Raya, giving the visitors an early lead.
The Gunners quickly regrouped, showcasing their dominance in set-piece situations. In the 40th minute, Gabriel Magalhaes rose highest from a corner, and a deflection off Dominic Solanke leveled the score for the home side.
Just before halftime, Leandro Trossard produced a moment of brilliance, cutting in from the left and firing a superb strike to seal Arsenal’s comeback.
The victory moved Arsenal into second place on the Premier League table with 43 points, trailing leaders Liverpool by four.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised his team’s resilience after the match.

“I’m very proud of the team; I think we were sensational,” Arteta said. “To bounce back after disappointment in two competitions and play the biggest game of the season with such attitude is a testament to the players.”
Meanwhile, Tottenham extended their winless run to five matches, dropping to 13th in the standings. Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou expressed disappointment in his side’s performance.
“Not good enough, especially in the first half,” Postecoglou said. “We allowed Arsenal to take control and dictate the tempo. It’s disappointing to lose this way.”
Looking ahead, Arsenal will host Aston Villa on Saturday as -196.08 favorites, while Tottenham travel to Goodison Park to face Everton on Sunday, with betting sites offering +152 for a Spurs victory.
