Day 13 of the 2025 Australian Open brings us two semi-final matchups in the men’s singles event in Melbourne. One of these offers more value than the other, with each of our free betting tips focusing on the clash between Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev.
Best bet: Over 3.5 sets
Djokovic and Zverev are likely to play another epic in the 2025 Australian Open semi-finals. Djokovic is in brilliant form, as evidenced by his win over Carlos Alcaraz on Tuesday night. Zverev, however, is the world No.2 and is playing the best tennis of his life.
Given how tight this matchup is, and how strong each player is behind his first serve, it is hard to see either winning by a significant margin. This makes bets on either the total games or total sets markets the most lucrative at tennis bookmakers. The best value is backing over 3.5 sets.
In what could be a long, physically brutal match, online bookmakers are offering great value for the outsider to win. Zverev is in great shape and can go on for a very long time, while Djokovic has dealt with fatigue and some injury issues in the last couple of rounds.
Provided that Zverev can hold his nerve, the German should get over the line here. There is excellent value in taking a Zverev victory, with odds of $2.30 at top Australian Open betting sites.
This bet comes with a little more risk but a higher reward. Thing is, the match can be tight but still end 3-0 or 3-1 to Zverev if he gets the better of the tiebreaks.
The No.2 seed is playing well enough to beat Djokovic. Should there be any residual niggle at the Serbian’s end, then a win in three or four sets to Zverev is not inconceivable. At +220 at Nags.bet, the set handicap of -1.5 is worth the risk.
