The Chicago Bears are 6-4 straight up and 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games against the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams did defeat the Bears 17-7 last year when these two teams met in Los Angeles though. Chicago will be looking to product a different result this time around as six-point underdogs in Los Angeles for Monday Night Football.

The Chicago Bears defeated the Carolina Panthers 23-16 last Sunday to improve to 5-1 straight up(SU) and 4-2 against the spread(ATS) on the season. Despite their strong season to date, the Bears aren’t getting much respect from the NFL sportsbooks or the betting public as they have been underdogs in all but one of their six games in 2020 thus far. Nick Foles has been underwhelming in three games since taking over the starting quarterback job with three touchdown passes, three interceptions, and only 230 passing yards per game, but it has been enough to lead Chicago to a 2-1 SU and ATS record.
The Los Angeles Rams were 2.5-point favorites last Sunday in San Francisco, but fell to 4-2 SU and 3-3 ATS on the season with a 24-16 loss to the 49ers. It’s difficult to know how good the Rams actually are this season as all four of their wins have come against the teams in the hapless NFC East that own a combined record of 2-15 SU against teams outside of the division. The Rams have a tough second half of the season ahead that includes two games against Seattle, two games against Arizona, and games against Tampa Bay and New England as well. But first, they’ll try to enter their bye week strong facing Chicago on Monday and Miami next Sunday.
This is a tough game to cap. The Bears are an underrated team despite their strong record due to their poor quarterback play. The Rams are a bit overrated despite not having any wins against quality opponents yet this season. But on the other hand, perhaps Chicago’s luck is due to run out and Los Angeles is due for a nice win.
The best play is probably on the UNDER 45 points; these two teams have gone 5-2 on the UNDER over their last seven games and have produced 30 points or less in all five of those games. In another contest that seems destined to be a low-scoring duel, the value is probably on the Bears as 6-point underdogs. Even if the Rams go on to win the game outright, Chicago has a decent shot at covering the spread in a competitive, low-scoring game.
