EPL Matchweek 14 odds, multi tips and betting predictions

Matchweek 14 will usher in a busy month in English football as we approach the midpoint of the 2019/20 English Premier League campaign.

Our first feature game will see Manchester City in action at St James’ Park at Saturday lunchtime in the weekend’s first piece of action.

Elsewhere, Chelsea will play host to West Ham United in a London derby, Liverpool will welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Anfield, and Tottenham Hotspur will play host to Bournemouth. All three matches will kick off at 3pm.

Leg 1 – Newcastle United vs Manchester City

Champions Manchester City will be hoping to register a convincing win on Saturday when they face Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United.

Having returned to winning ways against Chelsea last weekend, Pep Guardiola’s side secured progress into the knockout phase of the UEFA Champions League – with a game in hand – thanks to a 1-1 draw with Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday night.

A point behind second-placed Leicester City and nine adrift of leaders Liverpool, third-placed City cannot afford to slip up against a Newcastle United side sitting four places above safety with just three wins in their last 10 league games.

Chelsea’s impressive run of six successive wins in the Premier League came to an end last weekend with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of champions Manchester City. Despite the loss, Frank Lampard’s young side gave a good account of themselves, with plenty of lessons — more so defensively — to draw from the match given how they were the first to get on the score sheet.

The Blues may have been out of their depth last weekend against an expensively assembled and more experienced Manchester City side, but they should emerge victorious against a hapless West Ham. The Irons are fourth from bottom and without a win since September, so it is Chelsea’s game to lose.

Liverpool will be looking to retain their eight-point advantage at the top of the Premier League table when they play host to Brighton & Hove Albion this Saturday.

Whereas Brighton have lost their last two outings to Manchester United and Leicester City respectively, Liverpool have yet to taste defeat in their first 13 Premier League matches of the campaign. It’s an outright mismatch and the Reds should cruise to victory.
