F1 Dutch Grand Prix post qualifying tips & predictions
Round 15 of the 2025 Formula 1 season takes us to the narrow and technical Zandvoort circuit for the Dutch Grand Prix, where Oscar Piastri pulled off one of the tightest qualifying wins in recent memory. He took pole by just 0.012 seconds over teammate Lando Norris, while Max Verstappen starts from third. The Grand Prix begins at 3pm local time in the Netherlands (CEST) / 11pm AEST Sunday.
Oscar Piastri delivered under pressure in Q3, putting together a near-perfect lap to take pole with a 1:08.662 — just 0.012s clear of Lando Norris. That tiny margin locked out the front row for McLaren and gives Piastri a critical edge heading into Turn 1 on a track where overtaking is notoriously difficult.
Max Verstappen, in front of his home fans, will start P3 after being unable to match the McLarens in Sector 1. With passing opportunities limited and DRS zones short, Verstappen will need a strong launch off the line to have any hope of challenging for victory.
But the standout story of qualifying was Isack Hadjar, who stunned the paddock by qualifying fourth for Racing Bulls. The young Frenchman nailed every lap through the sessions and starts just behind Verstappen in what is easily the best grid slot of his F1 career so far.
