The 2025 Formula 1 season moves to Budapest this week for the Hungarian Grand Prix at the technical and twisty Hungaroring. Known as “Monaco without the walls,” this circuit demands precision, tyre management, and qualifying excellence.
Track action begins with Practice 1 on Friday, August 1, at 13:30 CEST, followed by Practice 2 at 17:00. On Saturday, Practice 3 runs at 12:30, with qualifying set for 16:00.
The Hungarian Grand Prix starts at 15:00 CEST on Sunday, August 3.
After a dramatic Belgian GP, McLaren enters Hungary as heavy favourites once again with leading sportsbooks, with Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris leading the championship fight. This circuit’s tight layout suits their high-downforce package perfectly.
Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc will be aiming to stay in touch with the McLarens, while Max Verstappen looks to recapture form in a Red Bull that has struggled for consistency this season. Mercedes and Williams are chasing podium opportunities, and Yuki Tsunoda’s new upgraded Red Bull looks to have made a difference.
Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri lead the market for the 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix, with Max Verstappen next in line and Charles Leclerc the best of the rest for Ferrari.

Piastri heads to Hungary as the defending race winner after a dominant drive in 2024 that was overshadowed by Lando Norris’ tantrum over team orders. The Aussie has shown even stronger form this season, and with McLaren again looking like the car to beat, he’s every chance to repeat last year’s heroics at the Hungaroring.
Leclerc has been qualifying strongly this season and thrives on technical circuits that reward late braking and cornering finesse. If Ferrari can manage tyre wear, Leclerc is well poised to land a podium finish in Budapest.
Hungary often rewards patient, strategic drives, and Tsunoda has shown newfound maturity since joining Red Bull. With strong long-run pace and potential strategy plays, expect Tsunoda to bring home another points finish.
