La Liga 2021/22 Matchweek 36 best bets & top odds

Real Madrid will be looking to avoid a second straight loss when it hosts lowly Levante this Thursday. We’ve got a play in that matchup as well as Wednesday’s Osasuna vs. Getafe and Thursday’s Rayo Vallecano vs. Villarreal in this week’s La Liga Matchweek 36 best bets.

Osasuna vs. Getafe

Osasuna (12-10-13) has recorded back-to-back 1-1 draws on the road against Elche and Espanyol after having gone 10 straight games without a draw posting a 5-0-5 record during that stretch. Getafe (8-13-14) has also had each of its last two games end in a draw with scores of 0-0 posted against Real Betis and Rayo Vallecano at home. When these clubs last met in December, Getafe came away with a 1-0 win.

While there are cases to be made for the draw odds at +202 and the UNDER 2 goals at -128, our best bet in this matchup is on Osasuna as a pick’em wager of -125 with the top betting sites. Venue matters here; Getafe is a respectable 7-6-5 with a +6 goal differential at home this season compared to a 1-7-9 road record with a -12 goal differential away from home. Betting this line as a pick’em turns the likely outcome of a draw into a push, so money will only be exchanged if one of these clubs wins outright. And that’s more likely to be Osasuna at home.

Rayo Vallecano vs. Villarreal

Rayo Vallecano (11-9-15) settled for one point in a 0-0 road draw at Getafe on Sunday, moving to 2-2-0 over its last four matches and to 2-4-1 over its last seven. Rayo has allowed only one goal over its last four matches but has also only scored three goals over its last five matches. Villarreal (14-11-10) recorded a 1-1 draw at home against Sevilla on Sunday and is now 2-2-1 over its last five matches. The club beat Rayo Vallecano 2-0 at home in December.

We’re going to take a shot on the UNDER 2.5 goals in this one. Villarreal has lost four of its last five road matches and is averaging only 0.6 goals per game in those five games. Rayo Vallecano may pull off the outright upset in a low-scoring soccer match, but a 1-0 Villarreal win or draws of 0-0 or 1-1 are also very likely results. These would all be covered with a bet on the under.

Real Madrid vs Levante

Real Madrid (25-6-4) lost 1-0 on the road against Atletico Madrid over the weekend, but it wasn’t a terrible effort. Real had six shots on target to Atletico’s two and held a 59% possession edge in the game. Levante (6-11-18) meanwhile defeated Real Sociedad 2-1 to improve to 3-1-2 over its last six matches. The club is a solid 5-3-4 over its last 12 games since opening the season with a 1-8-14 record.

Even with Levante playing solid soccer of late, it’s hard to see Real Madrid dropping this game. Sure, the La Liga championship is already locked up, but Madrid isn’t going to want to end the season on a low note with a long losing streak. At home against a team they are clearly superior to, Real Madrid should get back in the win column with a convincing victory.
