Leicester City will play host to a struggling Everton side this weekend in what could quite possibly be Marco Silva’s last game in charge of the Toffees. Without question the surprise performers of the season, the Foxes will look to retain second place in the English Premier League standings with a win in the Sunday afternoon encounter.
Brendan Rodgers’ side won their fifth consecutive Premier League match last weekend thanks to a 2-0 victory on the road against Brighton & Hove Albion. The result ensured that the Foxes remained second on the table on 29 points, one point ahead of champions Manchester City and eight points behind leaders Liverpool.
Given the circumstances under which Rodgers took over the reins at the King Power Stadium in February, few could have expected the former Liverpool boss to turn things around quite so quickly. In a matter of months, the 46-year-old Irishman has transformed Leicester City into the most compact defensive unit in the country without compromising their attacking potency.

Everton, on the other hand, have endured a horror start to the season, so much so that their manager’s job hangs in the balance ahead of Sunday’s trip to the East Midlands.
The Toffees suffered a disheartening 2-0 home defeat to newly promoted Norwich City last weekend, a result that saw them drop to 16th on the table on 14 points. They have only four wins from 13 games and sit a mere four points above the relegation zone.
With results that have inspired more scepticism than support among the Goodison Park faithful, there will be no hiding for Silva’s side when Everton step up against a ruthless Leicester outfit.

Matty James continues his lengthy spell on the sidelines as he nurses an Achilles injury, while former Manchester United defender Jonny Evans will have to pass a late fitness test having suffered an injury during the win over Brighton. Aside from those two, the Leicester squad is fit and firing.
Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes has yet to recover from a nasty injury sustained against Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the season, while midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin has been ruled out with a thigh injury. The likes of Fabian Delph and Bernard are gradually returning to fitness, although they are unlikely to feature this weekend.
• Vardy first goalscorer – +240 at Nags.bet • Vardy to score/Leicester City to win – +120
Jamie Vardy is having an incredible season. The 32-year-old striker has played a part in 15 goals for Leicester City and leads the Premier League scoring charts with 12 goals – two goals more than second-placed Tammy Abraham of Chelsea and three ahead of veteran striker Sergio Aguero of Manchester City. Having scored seven goals in his last five league games, Vardy will be hard to stop.
Leicester City have conceded the fewest number of goals in the English Premier League this season, letting in just eight in 13 games. The Foxes also boast the second-best attack in the league with 31 goals thus far. Having kept four clean sheets in a row while scoring 15 goals in the process, Leicester should run over the top of a battling Everton side.
