The NFL’s Week Four slate is rapidly approaching and fans will have another great Sunday of football. This week will feature the first European game of the season as the Minnesota Vikings will take on the New Orleans Saints in London. Beyond that, there is an awesome Sunday Night Football game that is a rematch of Super Bowl 55. Those are only two of the 14 scheduled games, however, and we have found our best picks for this packed slate.
Baltimore Ravens vs Buffalo Bills
Prior to last week, the Bills were getting hyped up as one of the best teams of all time. While that was a bold call, they had won both of their first two games by at least 21 points and looked unstoppable. However, anything can happen on any given Sunday and the Bills ended up losing a close Week Three contest against the Miami Dolphins. Now, it appears like there has been an overcorrection on the Bills’ perception.
They are still an elite team and while they won’t win every game by over 20 points, they should win this matchup against the Ravens. The Bills have the best passing attack in the NFL and the Ravens have been powerless against good passing teams this year. The Ravens have a league worst passing defense that gives up an average of 353 passing yards per game. Three points is not enough to dissuade us from taking the Bills and we like them to bounce back in this contest. Also, they should be motivated to avenge their loss from last week and may come out with more fervor than normal.
Buffalo Bills -3
Jonathan Taylor Over 93.5 Rushing Yards
This is a great bounce back spot for one of the best running backs in the NFL. After an impressive week one where Taylor had 161 yards on the ground, he has only been able to rack up 125 rushing yards over the past two weeks. That should change in this contest. The Titans allow an average of 145 rushing yards a game this season and have the 29th best rushing defense across the league. Taylor averaged well over 100 rushing yards a game last year and he should return that rate this season. This is a great spot for Taylor to get his season back on track and lead the Colts to a win in the process.
Jonathan Taylor Over 93.5 Yards
Atlanta Falcons vs Cleveland Browns
This line does not make a lot of sense. Both of these teams have bad offenses and while they also struggle defensively, this game should not be a shootout. It is a little risky to count on these defenses making stops but this should be a quick game without a lot of points. Both teams rush the ball over 32 times a game and each team has a top five rushing rate across the NFL. When teams run the ball, the clock stays moving and in turn, the game ends quicker. That is a conducive script for the under in any game and that’s exactly what we are thinking in this spot. This will be a grind-it-out type of game and both teams will try to limit mistakes. For those reasons, the under is very appealing and it would be surprising to see these teams even get to 40 combined points.
Under 47 Total Points
Jalen Hurts Anytime Touchdown Scorer
Jalen Hurts is the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles and he has a legit opportunity to lead the league in rushing touchdowns. Last year, Hurts had 10 rushing touchdowns and this year, he already has three. When the Eagles are in the redzone, Hurts is at his best and his ability to use his legs is one of the most dangerous traits in the league. Teams have known it’s coming but are still powerless to stop it. Until Hurts’ anytime touchdowns odds get significantly shorter, this is a great bet. He is truly one of the best redzone weapons in the NFL and the Jaguars should struggle to stop him in this matchup.
Jale Hurts Anytime Touchdown Scorer
Christian Kirk Over 59.5 Receiving Yards
This pick is in the same game as the aforementioned pick and may even be a better value. NFL sportsbooks have yet to adjust their lines properly for Kirk’s totals and they haven’t done it again. The Jaguars brought in Christian Kirk in free agency to be their number one receiver and he has done just that. Kirk has had over 70 yards receiving in all three of the Jags’ games this season and also has one game over 115 yards. He is getting heavily targeted from QB Trevor Lawrence and that shouldn’t change in this game. Kirk is getting too much volume for his line to be this low and in a spot where the Jags should be losing, they will have to pass more. Kirk’s receiving yard total is a great bet and a tremendous value when you consider how necessary he is to the Jaguar’s game plan.
Christian Kirk Over 59.5 Receiving Yards
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Kansas City Chiefs
This is a historic matchup and could be the last time we see Tom Brady vs Patrick Mahomes. Brady is expected to retire at the end of the season and unless these teams match up in the playoffs again, this will be the last game between these two super star QBs. That being said, we are siding with the old man in this contest. The Bucs are 2-1 and have struggled to this point in the season offensively but that should change here. They are getting their number one receiver Mike Evans back from suspension and he should help Brady immensely. The Bucs will also be motivated to bounce back from their loss last week and that should fuel them to victory in this extraordinary Sunday Night contest.
Also, the Bucs have a stronger defense and that should be the difference here. No one is doubting either team’s offense and they will cancel each other out. The difference will be made on the defensive side of the ball and we just trust the Tampa defense more. They should be able to do just enough to slow down Mahomes and usher in the Bucs’ third win of the season. This is going to be an awesome game and we like Brady to show out one more time against Mahomes.
