NHL betting picks & top parlay plays – Tuesday, April 26

Best bookmakers for NHL betting

There are 13 National Hockey League (NHL) games scheduled for April 26, starting at 7pm EDT. BettingPlanet brings you the best bets for the day’s action, with odds courtesy of Bovada.

Arizona Coyotes (+425) @ Minnesota Wild (-575)

Minnesota is the biggest favorite of the day and should be. The Wild have been the hottest team in the NHL since March 8, going 19-2-4 in their last 25 games and collecting a league-leading 42 points over that span. The most impressive thing about this Wild streak is that they’re doing this with many key players hurt. Jordan Greenway and Matt Dumba have both missed considerable time during the streak.

The Coyotes, on the other hand, haven’t won in their last 10 games, going 0-8-2 and averaging just 1.7 goals scored per game while allowing an astounding 5.3 goals per game. Arizona is also very injured, but unlike the Wild, the Coyotes don’t have the depth to overcome key injuries.

Expect the Wild to win at home by at least two goals, which pays -210. Also bet that more than 6.5 total goals will be scored at -115.

Detroit Red Wings (+340) @ Toronto Maple Leafs (-450)

Toronto will assure itself home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs with a home win over Detroit on Tuesday. The Maple Leafs are 7-2-1 over their last 10 games, but both the offense and defense over that stretch has been considerably worse than their season averages.

Luckily for the Leafs, the Red Wings haven’t exactly scored in bunches at any time this season and especially haven’t lately. Their 2.3 goals scored per game average over their last 10 got a considerable boost with three goals in New Jersey on Sunday.

Look for Toronto to play well enough to clinch home ice advantage in front of its home crowd. Bet that fewer than seven total goals are scored given the recent performance of both teams’ offenses. That pays -105.

Also take the Maple Leafs on the moneyline and to win by two or more goals. Minnesota and Toronto parlayed on the moneyline pays just -233, but taking both teams to win by two or more pays +134.

Columbus Blue Jackets (+290) @ Tampa Bay Lightning (-380)

Tampa Bay is the team chasing Toronto for home ice advantage in the playoffs, so until Toronto wins another game, every game is important for the Lightning. They’ve been scary good at the right time, scoring 4.5 goals per game over their last 10 and allowing 2.5.

The Blue Jackets got a much-needed win over Edmonton to end a four-game losing streak. It was an especially big win because the Blue Jackets have to play Tampa Bay twice in three days. The second game might be an easier one to win if Toronto clinches home ice advantage, but even if the Lightning rest a few players, the prospects of Columbus beating the defending champs are not good.

Take Tampa on the moneyline, and to win by two or more goals at -140. Adding them to your moneyline parlay with Minnesota and Toronto pays -123, but taking all three against the spread pays +301.

Tampa Bay Lightning -1.5
