Oscar Piastri Wins Miami GP

Oscar Piastri delivered another masterclass in Miami, storming to his fourth win of the season as McLaren locked out the top two spots at the 2025 Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix.

Leading home teammate Lando Norris, Piastri’s now won four of the opening six races and takes a commanding 16-point lead in the Drivers’ Championship. The Aussie is now a clear favorite at -175.44 with Nags.bet to win his maiden F1 world title.

George Russell completed the podium with another solid drive for Mercedes, while Max Verstappen could only manage P4 as Red Bull’s struggles continued under the Miami sun.

Alex Albon produced one of the drives of the day to finish P5 — his best result of the season for Williams — while rookie Kimi Antonelli, Charles Leclerc, and Lewis Hamilton followed in a closely packed midfield battle.

Further back, Yuki Tsunoda claimed the final point in P10, edging out former teammate Isack Hadjar in a gritty finish.

Mechanical issues and contact resulted in four drivers retiring: Liam Lawson, Gabriel Bortoleto, Oliver Bearman, and Jack Doohan.

Miami GP’s biggest winners

Oscar Piastri – Fastest in the race, clean all weekend. Piastri now holds a 16-point buffer atop the standings, with McLaren clearly giving him the car to beat in 2025.

Alexander Albon – His P5 result marks the best for Williams in 2025, rewarding both his pace and consistency. Quietly one of the most underrated drives this year.

McLaren – A second one-two finish of the year. They now lead both championships and show no signs of slowing down.

Miami GP’s biggest blunders

Max Verstappen & Red Bull – The three-time world champ had no answer for McLaren. From strategy calls to raw pace, Red Bull are playing catch-up. Verstappen’s frustration was evident over team radio late in the race as he begged for a penalty on Russell to rescue a podium.

Ferrari – While both cars finished in the points, neither threatened the leaders. Leclerc and Hamilton are falling behind the front four, and radio chatter suggested growing internal tension. They need a major turnaround — fast.
