First place Inter Milan will face one of its toughest tests of the season this Sunday on the road against Atalanta. This matchup along with the Juventus vs. Udinese and A.C. Milan vs. Spezia matches are featured in our selections for this weekend’s Serie A Matchweek 22 best bets.

Juventus vs. Udinese

Juventus (11-5-5) picked up another win last Sunday in a 4-3 victory over A.S. Roma, improving to 5-2-0 over its last seven games in the process. The club opened the season with an 0-2-2 record and was in 18th place on the Serie A table on September 19, but an 11-3-3 run since then has Juventus in fifth place in Serie A and sitting within five points of third-place Napoli.

Udinese (4-8-7) returned to action on Saturday after having each of its previous two games postponed due to COVID-19 and was blown away in a 6-2 loss to Atalanta. Since opening the season with a 2-1-0 record that included a draw at home against Juventus, Udinese is 2-7-7 over its last 11 games. The only real fear here would be Juventus potentially looking ahead to a big road match at A.C. Milan next Sunday. Assuming the club brings anything close to its best effort, expect the familiar 2-0 score that Juventus has won five of its last nine games by.

Atalanta vs. Inter Milan

Inter Milan (15-4-1) conceded a goal in Serie A league play for the first time since November 21 on Saturday but still came away with a 2-1 win at home over Lazio. Inter improved to 10-2-0 over its last 12 games and to 8-0-0 over its last eight with the victory. Atalanta blew by Udinese 6-2 with five different goal scorers on Saturday to snap out of an 0-1-1 mini-slump. Prior to those two disappointing results at the end of December, Atalanta was 8-2-0 with a six-game win streak.

These two clubs played to a 2-2 draw back in September. It would be surprising to see another four-goal game this time around considering Internazionale’s current form on defense. For that reason, we’re taking the UNDER 3 goals in this one. This will generate a lot of pushes on 2-1 scores, though there should also be a lot of 1-0 and 1-1 results between these two top-tier clubs.

A.C. Milan vs. Spezia

Inter Milan should be running away with the top spot in Serie A with its recent win streak, but their local rivals aren’t going down without a fight. A.C. Milan (15-3-3) followed up a 3-1 win over A.S. Roma last Thursday with a 3-0 road win over Venezia just three days later. Milan has won three straight games and has outscored its opponents 10 to 3 over that stretch.

Spezia (5-4-12) meanwhile earned a 1-0 win on the road at Genoa on Saturday to move to 2-0-1 over its last three matches after having gone 0-4-2 over its previous six. The club has scored one goal or less in seven of its last eight matches. That won’t cut it against A.C. Milan and it’s red hot offense; we’ll take Milan at home against the spread.
