The New Orleans Saints will look to go 4-1 when they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday in Week 5 of the 2019 NFL season.
The Buccaneers are coming off a huge 55-40 win in La La Land over the previous unbeaten LA Rams. Now they face a Saints team that is still without leader Drew Brees, although they have won their last two games with backup QB Teddy Bridgewater.
The Saints are coming off an impressive 12-10 win in which they handed the Dallas Cowboys their first loss of the season. They shut down Ezekiel Elliot and the run game and it was their first home game in their last six where they covered the spread.
Jameis Winston is in the hot seat as the starting QB for the Bucs, but in the win over the Rams he starred with 385 passing yards, four touchdowns and one interception. He has passed for seven touchdowns in his last two games. Chris Goodwin had 172 receiving yards and Mike Evans chimed in for 89 receiving yards.
Tampa Bay did not have their best run game in the win over the Rams with only 88 rushing yards and their ground game has struggled all season. Winston may have to shoulder the offensive load in New Orleans and while the Saints played great defense in their last game, they still only rank 24th in the league defending the pass and 20th defending the run.

The Saints gave up only 257 total yards in the win over Dallas, which was their second in a row. The offense only had 266 total yards with Bridgewater passing for 193 yards with no touchdowns and one interception.
The player that the Bucs defense needs to contain is do-it-all RB Alvin Kamara, who rushed for 69 yards and had 20 receiving yards in the win over the Cowboys. This season he has rushed for 280 yards and ranks second for the Saints with 199 receiving yards.
Bridgewater has been a solid game-manager is his two starts under center, but will he take his shots in this game? The Bucs rank second to last in the league in pass defense but first in run defense and Kamara will test that running defense, for sure.
The New Orleans offensive line has been decent thus far and will have to block Tampa’s Shaquil Barrett, who is off to a blazing start with nine sacks in the first four games of the season.
Last season these NFC South rivals split their two games facing each other, each winning on the road.

Winston has been playing well of late and the Bucs are coming off a big win, but the Saints remember last season when they lost a shootout to the Bucs at the Superdome. The New Orleans defense will play well as they avenge last year’s defeat and cover the spread in the Big Easy.
