UFC Fight Night 175 betting preview
As Jon Jones recently relinquished the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship to move up in weight class, the winner of the UFC Fight Night 175 main event could position himself for a title shot with another win or two. Let’s take a look at the latest UFC betting odds and fight form for Saturday’s card in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Light Heavyweight: Anthony Smith (+230) vs Aleksandar Rakic (-270)
Aleksandar Rakic (12-2-0) had a 12-fight winning streak that included a 4-0 start to his UFC career snapped in December when he lost by split decision to Volkan Oezdemir. Anthony Smith (33-15-0) has lost two of this last three fights since going 14-2 in his previous 16, most recently losing as a favorite to Glover Teixeira in May.
Smith looked flat out terrible in his last match against Teixeira. Perhaps there is a bounce back on the cards this Saturday night, but until Smith shows us that he has returned to his old form, he’s going to be hard to pick against a fighter of Rakic’s caliber.
Aleksandar Rakic by KO/TKO
Welterweight: Neil Magny (-235) vs Robbie Lawler (+195)
Robbie Lawler (28-14-0) is a former UFC Welterweight champion with major knockout potential, as 20 of his 28 career wins have come in that way. But you have to go all the way back to UFC 214 in July 2017 to find Lawler’s last win; he’s lost each of his last three fights, albeit to solid competition in Rafael dos Anjos, Ben Askren, and Colby Covington.
Neil Magny (23-7-0), on the other hand, has won four of his last five fights and is on a two-fight winning streak. Magny’s four-inch height and six-inch reach advantages should help keep Lawler out of knockout range and allow the former to earn enough points to score the victory.
Neil Magny by points decision
Women’s Flyweight: Alexa Grasso (-310) vs Ji Yeon Kim (+255)
Alexa Grasso (11-3-0) has lost three of her last five fights since starting her professional career with a 9-0 record. Ji Yeon Kim (9-2-2) is coming into this fight off of a win in her last bout, but she hasn’t faced competition as tough as Grasso has in the UFC. Both of these women have experience, but look for Grasso’s history against tougher opponents to give her the edge here.
Alexa Grasso by points decision
Featherweight: Ricardo Lamas (-310) vs Bill Algeo (+255)
Bill Algeo (13-4) will make his UFC debut on Saturday, entering the promotion with a 5-1 record over his last six fights. He draws Ricardo Lamas (19-8-0), who has lost three of his last four fights and was most recently knocked out by Calvin Kattar at UFC 238 in June 2019. On a card full of more reliable favorites, the price looks right to take a stab on the underdog here.
Bill Algeo to win
Light Heavyweight: Magomed Ankalaev (-350) vs Ion Cutelaba (+290)
Magomed Ankalaev (14-1-0) defeated Ion Cutelaba (15-5-0) via technical knockout in the first round at UFC Fight Night 169 back in February. The referee’s decision to stop the fight was widely panned by UFC pundits and the media, who all felt it was called far too early. Even if that was the case, Ankalaev is still the pick fo their rematch on Saturday night.

UFC Fight Night 175 preliminary card
Middleweight: Impa Kasanganay (-123) vs Maki Pitolo (+103)
Women’s Strawweight: Mallory Martin (-325) vs Hannah Cifers (+265)
Middleweight: Alessio Di Chirico (-115) vs Zak Cummings (-105)
Women’s Flyweight: Emily Whitmire (-140) vs Polyana Viana (+120)
Welterweight: Sean Brady (-400) vs Christian Aguilera (+325)
