After eight Champions League games are played this Tuesday, there will be eight more on tap this Wednesday to round out Matchday 4. The group stage is dwindling to a close and the intrigue for the tournament is building as teams start to feel the heat of elimination. Wednesday’s games will be headlined by the likes of Barcelona, Tottenham and Liverpool. Here are our best picks for those games and more.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Eintracht Frankfurt
Harry Kane cannot be stopped right now. The English striker has been one of the best players over the past decade and this year is no different. Although he is yet to score in any Champions League matches this season, he has eight goals from nine Premier League games. Tottenham played Frankfurt last week and ended up drawing them 0-0. At home, Spurs should be better and they will be able to create more opportunities. Tottenham have substantially more talent than the German team and they will be feeding Kane around the goal. Kane only needs one chance to score, but we think he will have plenty in this contest. At around even odds, Kane to score is a great value bet.

Napoli vs Ajax
These two teams are completely trending in opposite directions and this game is set up to be a great one. As of right now, Napoli are top of Group A with a full nine points through three games. Ajax are in third with only three points in as many games. Napoli are playing unbelievably well and are in the midst of their best season in recent memory. However, in this game, we like Ajax at their value. While Napoli have been very strong, Ajax have never been an easy out and they will be motivated to extend their Champions League journey in this Wednesday fixture.
Ajax are in do-or-die mode. Essentially, if they want a chance to advance to the knockout stages, they need to win this game. It’s going to be a tight contest, but we think Ajax have some magic left. The Dutch giants have traditionally been a strong Champions League team, and while they lost a lot of talent prior to this season, they are better than they have played up to this point. While this will be a tough away game, the value on Ajax’s moneyline – +420 with Bovada – is too good to pass up.
Ajax to win
Rangers vs Liverpool
While Mohamed Salah is having a down year by his standards, he is still an elite player. In three Champions League games, the Egyptian has two goals. Sure, Liverpool have been a different team without Sadio Mane, but they should have an easy time out there on Wednesday. They are going to be playing a scrappy Rangers team, but the home side will struggle to contain Liverpool’s athleticism. The visitors should be able to dominate possession and, in turn, the goalscoring opportunities. Salah is still the keystone to their attacking gameplan and he should be the biggest benefactor of Liverpool’s chance creation. Salah to score is a great value bet at around -115 with the top soccer betting sites.
Mohamed Salah anytime goalscorer
Plzen vs Bayern Munich
Speaking of Sadio Mane, we like his chances to score for his new club, Bayern Munich. Mane has kept up his elite level of play in Germany and he has completely settled in at Bayern. In this Matchday 4 battle, Bayern should dominate. They are playing a small club from the Czech Republic and this is the most lopsided game on the slate. Last time out, the German giants defeated Plzen 5-0, and they should fare similarly in this game. Bayern will control the game and score plenty of goals; it will just come down to who will score. Mane has been the focal point of the Bayern attack, and while he only has one Champions League goal this year, it was against this same Plzen team. We expect Mane to at least double his Champions League goal tally and be a massive factor in this game.
Sadio Mane anytime goalscorer
