THERE was plenty of movement in the English Premier League table last weekend.
Leicester City continued their brilliant start with a 3-2 win away at West Bromwich Albion, moving up to third place in the process.
Tottenham Hotspur downed Aston Villa to jump up to fifth, while West Ham United slid out of the top four after losing 2-0 at Watford.
Everton hammered relegation favourites Sunderland 6-2 at Goodison Park, while Manchester City and Arsenal remained level on points at the top with wins over Norwich City and Swansea City respectively.
But the result of the weekend came at Stamford Bridge, where Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool claimed a resounding 3-1 victory to leave Chelsea and Jose Mourinho wallowing just a few points above the drop zone.
What will we see in round 15? Here are the top match odds and value bets for the upcoming weekend of 2015-16 Premier League action.
Bournemouth vs. Newcastle United
12:45pm local time on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Vitality Stadium
Bournemouth – $2.30 (Sportsbet.com)
Newcastle – $3.25 (CrownBet.com)
Draw – $3.40 (Luxbet.com)
Round 12’s Saturday lunchtime fixture sees 17th host 18th in what could prove an important match in the 2015-16 EPL relegation fight. Bournemouth have now lost four of their last five, conceding 15 goals in the process, while Newcastle have just one league win – a 6-2 thumping of Norwich City. The Toon have given up 13 goals in five away games, so we’re leaning towards the home side.
Top picks:
– Bournemouth to win ($2.30 at Sportsbet)
– Correct score 2-1 ($9.50 at Bet365)
– Matt Ritchie to score first goal ($8.40 at CrownBet)
Leicester City vs. Watford
3:00pm local time on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at King Power Stadium
Leicester – $1.85 (WilliamHill.com)
Watford – $4.33 (Sportsbet.com)
Draw – $3.75 (Bet365.com)
Leicester’s all-action style under Claudio Ranieri has them just three points off the top, while 11th-placed Watford have outshone the other promoted teams despite being the pre-season favourite to go straight back down. Although the Hornets have kept their fixtures quite tight, this clash will feature three of the league’s top goalscorers: Jamie Vardy (11), Riyad Mahrez (seven) and Odion Ighalo (seven). We fancy the Foxes at home here.
Top picks:
– Leicester to win ($1.85 at William Hill)
– Under 2.5 goals ($2 at Luxbet)
– Jamie Vardy to score first goal ($4.50 at Sportsbet)
Manchester United vs. West Bromwich Albion
3:00pm local time on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Old Trafford
Man United – $1.33 (Sportsbet.com)
West Brom – $11 (WilliamHill.com)
Draw – $5 (Bet365.com)
The Red Devils have looked a little flat of late, with their last two league games ending in goalless stalemates. West Brom have probably exceeded expectations to this point, but their four wins have all come against fellow relegation prospects. Expect Louis van Gaal and United to get the job done at the Theatre of Dreams.
Top picks:
– Man Utd to win ($1.33 at Sportsbet)
– Correct score 2-0 ($6 at Bet365)
– Memphis Depay to score first goal ($7 at Sportsbet)
Norwich City vs. Swansea City
3:00pm local time on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Carrow Road
Norwich – $2.50 (Bet365.com)
Swansea – $2.90 (Sportsbet.com)
Draw – $3.40 (WilliamHill.com)
Norwich have lost their last four Premier League games, although they came close to snatching a point against Man City last week. Swansea have taken a big dive after a strong start, winning just one of their last seven outings. It’s a tight one on paper, but the Swans should be able to claim at least a point in East Anglia.
Top picks:
– Draw ($3.40 at William Hill)
– Both teams to score ($1.74 at CrownBet)
– Andre Ayew to score first goal ($9 at Sportsbet)
Sunderland vs. Southampton
3:00pm local time on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Stadium of Light
Sunderland – $5 (Bet365.com)
Southampton – $1.80 (Sportsbet.com)
Draw – $3.70 (Luxbet.com)
The Black Cats are living up to their billing as wooden spoon favourites, with only six points from their 11 games. They were slaughtered by Everton last week and face a tough one this Saturday against Southampton, who have moved up to seventh after five games unbeaten. The Saints should get all three points here.
Top picks:
– Southampton to win ($1.80 at Sportsbet)
– Southampton clean sheet ($2.25 at William Hill)
– Sadio Mane to score first goal ($6.50 at Bet365)
West Ham United vs. Everton
3:00pm local time on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Boleyn Ground
West Ham – $2.50 (Luxbet.com)
Everton – $2.80 (Sportsbet.com)
Draw – $3.40 (WilliamHill.com)
Having climbed into third place, West Ham undid much of their good work last weekend with a 2-0 defeat to Watford. Everton, meanwhile, are riding high on the back of a 6-2 victory over Sunderland. The Hammers have looked better against the bigger teams, especially away from home, so it would be no surprise if the Toffees got something out of this one.
Top picks:
– Draw ($3.40 at William Hill)
– Over 3.5 goals scored ($3 at William Hill)
– Ross Barkley to score first goal ($9 at Bet365)
Stoke City vs. Chelsea
5:30pm local time on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Britannia Stadium
Stoke – $3.75 (Sportsbet.com)
Chelsea – $2.05 (CrownBet.com)
Draw – $3.50 (Bet365.com)
Jose Mourinho is under real pressure now after his Chelsea side lost 3-1 at home to Liverpool. The Blues head to the Potteries sitting one spot behind a Stoke outfit which has lost only one of its last six, although manager Mark Hughes would’ve been disappointed with a 0-0 result against Newcastle last week. The Britannia isn’t the easiest place to go, but Chelsea at over $2 is hard to refuse – even if their form is rubbish.
Top picks:
– Chelsea to win ($2.05 at CrownBet)
– Chelsea to lead at half-time and full-time ($3.35 at CrownBet)
– Diego Costa to score first goal ($5.50 at Bet365)
Aston Villa vs. Manchester City
1:30pm local time on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Villa Park
Aston Villa – $7.50 (Sportsbet.com)
Man City – $1.44 (CrownBet.com)
Draw – $4.50 (Luxbet.com)
It’s bottom versus top in Birmingham on Sunday. Aston Villa have managed only four points thus far, losing nine of 11 games, while Man City lead all comers despite looking less than convincing in their last couple of outings. Even though they had some nervy moments against Norwich, there should be no complications for the Citizens at Villa Park.
Top picks:
– Man City to win ($1.44 at CrownBet)
– Only Man City to score ($2.50 at CrownBet)
– Raheem Sterling to score first goal ($7 at William Hill)
Arsenal vs. Tottenham Hotspur
4:00pm local time on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Emirates Stadium
Arsenal – $1.67 (Sportsbet.com)
Tottenham – $5.25 (Bet365.com)
Draw – $4 (Luxbet.com)
It should be a belter of a derby date at the Emirates on Sunday, as Arsenal and Spurs are the form teams in Premier League 2015-16. The Gunners were humiliated by Bayern Munich on Wednesday, however, and are missing a host of key players. We’re plumping for the Lilywhites, if only because their odds are so juicy.
Top picks:
– Spurs to win ($5.25 at Sportsbet)
– Scores level at half-time ($2.50 at Bet365)
– Olivier Giroud to score the first goal ($5.20 at CrownBet)
Liverpool vs. Crystal Palace
4:00pm local time on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Anfield
Liverpool – $1.73 (Sportsbet.com)
Crystal Palace – $5.50 (Bet365.com)
Draw – $3.75 (Luxbet.com)
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp claimed his first Premier League victory in emphatic fashion last weekend, downing Chelsea 3-1 at the Bridge to extend the Reds’ unbeaten run to six. The Eagles have flattened out after a solid start, although they managed a draw – their first of the season – against Man United last time out. Palace was something of a bogey team for Brendan Rodgers, but we’re tipping this re-energised Liverpool side to win in front of the Kop.
Top picks:
– Liverpool to win ($1.73 at Sportsbet)
– Correct score 2-0 ($8.50 at Bet365)
– Roberto Firmino to score first goal ($6.50 at William Hill)
