Former All-Pro WR Antonio Brown Signs One-Year Contract With Tampa Bay Buccaneers
After more than a year off the NFL rosters, former All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown is back. This Friday night, news broke of Brown’s new one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The move adds further depth to a star-studded Bucs offensive team.
Brown joins fellow All-Pros Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski—likely future additions to the Football Hall of Fame. Brady was actually responsible for pushing for Brown’s addition to the team. The Bucs also have Pro Bowl receivers Chris Godwin and Mike Evans.
Running backs include Ronald Jones, LeSean McCoy, and Leonard Fournette. Brown is expected to be another viable option for Brady. He may also create space for Tyler Johnson and running lanes for Jones and Fournette.

Manchester City v Liverpool Match Moved To November 8 Amidst Reshuffle
The much-awaited match between Man City and Liverpool has been rescheduled for November 8, according to Premier League officials. Several other matches had to be moved around as well. The moves respond to the need to accommodate limited TV broadcasting slots.
Man City will be hosting Liverpool in Etihad on November 8 at 4:30 PM (GMT). Earlier that day, Leicester City will be playing Wolves in Sky Sports’ Super Sunday. The league has announced the final schedule for match weeks 8 through 10.
Chelsea’s match against Newcastle was also moved and will now take place on November 21 at 12:30 PM. Arsenal will be playing Leeds United on November 22, at 4:30 PM. The reshuffling announcement didn’t clarify whether the league is keeping the much-criticized PPV format for select matches.

Cricket South Africa Members’ Council Asks Entire Board To Resign
A recent meeting of Cricket South Africa’s members’ council may result in a potentially drastic measure. The entire board of directors of the CSA has been asked to step down. This request is the latest development in the ongoing crisis in South African cricket’s governing organization.
Long months of conflict amidst the leadership of the organization have caused much turmoil. South Africa’s sports minister, Nathi Mthethwa, has threatened to intervene unless CSA proves the chaos has been put to rest. They have until Tuesday to make their case.
In the past weeks, the sports minister noted that CSA’s board refused to step aside for an investigation. The organization refused to comply even after being compelled by SASCOC (South Africa’s Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee).

France Women’s Rugby Team Will Play In Dublin Due To Travel Restrictions
Ireland’s COVID-19 travel restrictions made it difficult for the Women’s Rugby team to play their Women’s Six Nations final. As France has more pliable guidelines in place for returning athletes, the French Women’s team has committed to traveling to Dublin instead.
Athletes returning to Ireland must restrict their movements for 14 days. As the Irish women’s team is made up of amateurs, complying with this measure can be very taxing. Most players have professional and family duties to tend to beyond their athletic activities.
In contrast, French guidelines don’t require returning athletes to isolate. The issue doesn’t affect the Men’s team, as they’re considered professional athletes. This allows them to remain in safety bubbles designed for high-performance athletes.

León Bests Puebla And Continue Path Towards ‘Liguilla’ Leadership
The Apertura tournament of Mexico’s Liga MX finished its 15th match day. León managed to beat Puebla as visitors, 2-1. León’s Ángel Mena and Emmanuel Gigliotti scored two goals against a single Puebla goal from Fideo Álvarez.
After a slow first half, Gigliotti opened the score at 53′, followed by Mena at 69′. Pedro Aquino Sánchez got thrown off the pitch with a red card at 74′, leaving León down a man. Fideo Álvarez capitalized on that weakness at 77′, but it wasn’t enough to keep León at bay.
Now, León is looking like the natural leader in the ‘Liguilla’ tournament. Meanwhile, the defeat makes it harder for Puebla to make the loser’s bracket.

McLaughlin & Team Penske Quit Supercars To Move To IndyCar
Three-time Supercars champion Scott McLaughlin has confirmed his exit from the competition for a move to IndyCar. McLaughlin is set to debut in the IndyCar series finale in St. Petersburg, Florida. That means the 2020 Supercars champion won’t be around for the 2021 season.
Team Penske, backed by billionaire Roger Penske, will also step away from Supercars. McLaughlin is joining Team Penske’s four-car roster in the IndyCar 2021 season. A statement from McLaughlin said he’s looking forward to competing against the best drivers in the world.
Penske holds the all-time record for Indy 500 races, with 18 victories as team owner. He first entered Australian motorsports in 2015, partnering with Dick Johnson Racing. The DJR Team Penske went on to nab 56 race victories, three championships, and the 2019 Bathurst 1000.

Bay of Plenty Smashes Canterbury In Mitre 10 Cup Match
The Bay of Plenty Steamers managed an impressive 44-8 victory over Canterbury. This is the first victory that Bay of Plenty has had against Canterbury in over nine years. It was a stellar performance for the Steamers, who showed their best form yet in 2020.
In contrast, it’s a disappointing defeat for Rugby Unions Canterbury team. The team had two All Blacks in their lineup: Cullen Grace and Mitchell Dunshea. It’s the fourth back-to-back loss for Canterbury, leaving them fifth in the overall rankings.
The historic score is Bay of Plenty’s all-time highest against Canterbury. The match was a major upset for Mitre 10 Cup betting odds. The Steamers dominated the first half, with three tries in a row.
While Canterbury picked up speed starting the second half, they failed to capitalize on it. Bay of Plenty now may have a shot at the top four.
