The F1 World Championship continues this weekend as we head to Silverstone for the 2024 British Grand Prix.
Returning to the traditional format, Practice 1 begins at 12:30pm on Friday, July 5, with the main race commencing at 3pm on Sunday, July 7.
Last Sunday in Austria, it was one of the most exciting races of the season. Fighting for the win, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and McLaren’s Lando Norris collided with less than 10 laps to go, handing victory to Mercedes’ George Russell. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz rounded out the podium, while Verstappen ended up in fifth place.
With 237 points, Verstappen still holds a substantial lead over the chasing pack, while Norris (156) is locked in a battle with Ferrari pair Charles Leclerc (150) and Sainz (135).
As last year’s winner at the track, it is no surprise to see Verstappen as the favourite. However, the McLarens are closing in, with Norris offering the shortest odds for any non-Red Bull driver this year.
The Ferraris have dropped off the pace in the last month, while Mercedes have had both cars finish inside the top four in each of the last three races. The remaining cars offer more value for a top-six or points finish.

After throwing away the race victory due to his impatience in Austria, Lando Norris will be eager to make amends this weekend. Sitting second in the championship, the Englishman already has a race win and six podium finishes this season. At his home circuit, back Norris to secure victory at +250 with leading F1 bookmakers.
Also returning to his home track, Lewis Hamilton is expected to be very competitive after three consecutive top-four finishes. The 39-year-old has won eight times at Silverstone, while he secured a third-place finish in 2023. As the Mercedes is now a genuine rival to the McLarens and Ferraris, back Hamilton to secure a podium finish at +175 with online sports bookies.
After securing a season-best sixth-place finish in Austria, Haas driver Nico Hulkenburg has climbed to 12th spot in the drivers’ standings. With teammate Kevin Magnussen finishing eighth, there are hopes that the car is now quicker than mid-pack rivals Aston Martin, Alpine and RB. Hulkenburg has scored points in five of the 11 race weekends, so back the German driver to secure another points finish at +100 with top F1 betting sites.
