Bundesliga 2021/22 Matchweek 10 preview & best bets

Bayern Munich will look to continue its Bundesliga dominance this Saturday on the road against Union Berlin. We’ll go over that game and also preview the Bayer Leverkusen vs Wolfsburg and SC Freiburg vs Greuther Furth matchups in this weekend’s Bundesliga soccer betting picks.

Union Berlin vs Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich (7-1-1) rolled to an easy 4-0 victory at home over Hoffenheim last Saturday to follow up on a 5-1 win on the road over Leverkusen. And then, in a stunning turn of events, the club lost 5-0 on Wednesday in a DFB-Pokal game against Monchengladbach. That ugly loss could serve as a nice tool to refocus ahead of this Saturday’s road matchup against Union Berlin.

Berlin (4-4-1) plate to a 1-1 draw against VfB Stuttgart last weekend. Despite an underwhelming +3 goal differential on the season (13 goals for, 10 goals against), Union Berlin has managed to earn points in eight of its nine Bundesliga matches this season. We expect that Union Berlin will be picking up its second loss of the season in this one. Playing this one against the spread is a bit risky considering Berlin’s solid defensive play this season, but Bayern Munich’s attack should be strong enough to break through for another win by at least two goals.

Bayer Leverkusen vs Wolfsburg

Bayer Leverkusen (5-2-2) settled for a 2-2 draw in its road matchup against Koln last Sunday. Leverkusen is 0-1-1 over its last two games since opening the season with a 5-1-1 record in Bundesliga play. A home game against freefalling Wolfsburg could be just what Leverkusen needs to get back in the win column this Saturday.

Wolfsurg (4-1-4) rode its strong defensive play to a 4-1-0 start this season, conceding only two goals over that five-game stretch. But over their last four games, Wolfsburg’s defense has been lit up for 10 goals, resulting in four straight losses by two goals. The club’s recent defensive woes aren’t likely to come to an end this weekend facing Bundesliga’s third highest scoring team in Bayer Leverkusen (23 goals in nine matches). Take the home team at a very reasonable price on the betting board in this one.

SC Freiburg vs Greuther Furth

SC Freiburg (5-4-0) is undefeated so far this season and on a nice roll with three wins in the club’s last four league matches. Freiburg has conceded only six goals through its first nine games to record Bundesliga’s best goals against average at 0.67 goals allowed per game. This should be a mismatch against a Greuther Furth offense that has scored only six goals this season.

Like many teams throughout history that have been recently promoted, Furth (0-1-8) has clearly shown that it is not prepared to compete at this level. Greuther Furth has the league’s worst record and worst goal differential at -18. This seems like a very safe place to the lay the chalk on the favorite and to expect a pretty easy win for SC Freiburg.
