Serie A 2021/22 Matchweek 11 betting predictions

AC Milan has climbed to the top of the Serie A table and will be looking to continue its hot streak this Sunday on the road against Roma. That match along with Atlanta vs Lazio and Sassuolo vs Empoli are our targets in Matchweek 11.

Atalanta vs Lazio

Atalanta (5-3-2) improved to 2-1-0 over its last three matches with its 3-1 road win over Sampdoria on Wednesday. The recent surge has moved Atalanta into fifth place on the Serie A table, but to hold on to that spot the club will need to fend off Lazio at home this Saturday. Lazio (5-2-3) has alternated wins and losses over its last five games, most recently picking up a 1-0 win at home over Fiorentina.

Lazio is tied for the third best home record in Serie A at 4-1-0. But on the road, Lazio has earned only five of a possible 15 points with a 1-1-3 record. Interestingly, Atalanta has actually been better on the road this season (at 4-1-0) than it has at home with a 1-2-2 record. Regardless of who comes out on top, we like this one to go OVER the posted total; four of Atalanta’s last five league matches have produced four or more goals as have three of Lazio’s last five.

AS Roma vs AC Milan

AC Milan (9-1-0) is a perfect 6-0-0 over its last six matches and has now scored 23 goals and only conceded nine through their first 10 matches in 2021-22. Milan will face a tough road test this Sunday going up against AS Roma (6-1-3), who ranks fourth on the Serie A table with 19 points and fourth in goal differential this season with a +8.

Roma has allowed only two goals at home through its first five matches at Stadio Olimpico this year. But will Roma’s defense be able to stop this balanced Milan attack led by Olivier Giroud and Rafael Leao? This is going to be a fantastic match that could go either way. And considering how difficult it is to try to pick a winner in, we see this as a good spot to take a shot at betting on the two clubs to play to a draw.

Sassuolo vs Empoli

Sassuolo (4-2-4) has had an up-and-down season thus far, but the club is currently on an upswing with two straight wins over Venezia and Juventus. Empoli (4-0-6) meanwhile has lost two of its last three matches and has conceded a total of 20 goals this season across 10 games.

This seems like a pretty clear cut spot to roll with Sassuolo. The club is playing with a lot of confidence and should have a fired up home crowd there in support on Sunday after the team’s impressive road upset over Juventus on Wednesday. Look for Sassuolo to take advantage of Empoli’s shaky defense with two or three goals en route to a home win.
