Bundesliga 2021/22 Matchweek 11 betting predictions

Two of the top three teams on the Bundesliga table clash this Saturday when Bayern Munich hosts SC Freiburg. We’ll cover that match and make our picks in the RB Leipzig vs Borussia Dortmund and Koln vs Union Berlin matchups this weekend in our Bundesliga Matchweek 11 best bets.

Bayern Munich vs SC Freiburg

Bayern Munich (8-1-1) has been on a tear since suffering its first loss of the season in a stunning upset against Eintracht Frankfurt. Bayern has won its last three Bundesliga games 5-1 over Bayer Leverkusen, 4-0 over Hoffenheim, and 5-2 over Union Berlin. Will SC Freiburg be next on the chopping block this Saturday?

SC Freiburg (6-4-0) is undefeated this season and has climbed into the third spot on the Bundesliga table with a 4-1 record over its last five matches. Freiburg is obviously the real deal this season with the league’s top ranked defense having conceded only seven goals through 10 games, but how will this unit fare against Bundesliga’s high-powered offense that has 38 goals so far in 2021-22? This is a tough one to cap, but we think SC Freiburg is good enough to keep this one close, so we’ll take them with the spread.

RB Leipzig vs Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund (8-0-2) has won four straight league matches. The club has also been significantly better in the defensive zone of late with only four goals conceded in its last five matches after allowing 11 goals across its first five matches. RB Leipzig (4-3-3) has also been trending in the right direction with a 3-3-0 record over its last six games since opening the season with a 1-0-3 skid. Red Bull Leipzig has allowed one goal or fewer in all six of those games and will have that defense put to the test against Dortmund’s high-powered attack.

This should be an exciting game between the two clubs that came into the season as the favorites to finish in second place behind Bayern Munich on the Bundesliga table. We’re going to take a shot on Borussia Dortmund; while we lean towards RB Leipzig getting the win a home, the betting odds do not seem to accurately reflect Dortmund’s chances at an upset, which are more realistic than the +240 price they are being laid.

Koln vs Union Berlin

Koln (3-4-3) has been steadily sliding down in the standings with an 0-1-2 record over its last three games since going 3-3-1 through its first seven games. Union Berlin (4-4-2) is having a strong season with its only two losses coming against the league’s top two teams in Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

Subtracting the nine goals Berlin surrendered in those two games, the club has allowed only six goals in its other eight games and had earned wins in three of its last for matches before getting crushed by Bayern 5-2 last weekend. Yet surprisingly, Koln is a considerable favorite here at +115 with Union Berlin going off at +255 to score an upset on the road. There’s plenty of value in Berlin on the moneyline here, but we’ll book a profit in the event that this one ends in a draw as well by playing the road squad against the spread.
