England take control on day three of Test against West Indies

England's impressive performance on day three of West Indies test

In Nottingham, England, the English batsmen displayed an impressive performance on Saturday, asserting their dominance in the second cricket test against the West Indies at Trent Bridge.

After holding the visitors to a 41-run lead in the first inning, England accumulated 248/3 by the end of Day 3.

Ben Duckett (56), Ollie Pope (56), and Harry Brook (71*) all achieved half centuries, with Brook standing unbeaten alongside Joe Root (37*).

Starting the day in a solid position, the West Indies faced resistance from England’s bowlers, Stuart Broad (3-62), limiting them to a total of 453 all out.

Joshua Da Silva led for the visitors with 82 runs.

England’s approach was assertive as they played with a sense of urgency resembling a one day match.

Although Zak Crawley fell early, Duckett, Pope and Brook showcased batting impressive performances.

Alzarri Joseph stood out as the West Indian bowler with figures of 2-58 in the second innings.

Nonetheless, England’s middle order has positioned them strongly for Day 4, with Brook looking poised to achieve a century.
