The NBA regular season is getting closer to an end, which makes every game even more important.
This Friday there are plenty of teams in action which have playoff aspirations, and also those that have already booked their ticket to the finals.
The Detroit Pistons have a winning record this season and they will be looking to keep Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks at bay. Also on the card is the Toronto Raptors, which are looking to build off an impressive win over the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday.
Miami Heat are coping well without LeBron James, but facing the Sacramento Kings can produce any sort of drama. The Heat will have to keep their heads clear to notch up the win this Friday.
We also take a look at the highly-anticipated Celtics vs. Warriors clash. The Golden State Warriors want to beat the Bulls win record and facing an improving Celtics side won’t be easy.
We have a four-leg parlay available this week to give our punters some spending money heading into the weekend. Place your parlay bets at WilliamHill.com.
Detroit Pistons (-256) vs. Dallas Mavericks (+209)
The Pistons have had a good season for their standards with a 40-35 record and they are looking to take advantage of the Mavericks which are just looking to hold on.
The Mavs have slipped below .500 where they often find themselves and we can’t see any improvement coming over the next few weeks. They have won their last two games against Denver and New York, but they looked horrible when dropping a game to the Kings 133-111.
Detroit are coming into this having just beaten the Thunder 88-82 and that’s an almighty defensive effort on one of the best scoring outfits in the NBA.
We are predicting a comfortable Pistons win and an easy way to kick off our parlay.
Toronto Raptors (-227) vs. Memphis Grizzles (+188)
What’s happened to the Memphis Grizzlies in the last week? They were exceeding expectations with a 41-30 record, but after dropping four straight heading into this game, questions are starting to be asked.
The Grizzles lost to the Lakers, San Antonio twice and Denver in their four-game stretch which doesn’t inspire bettors ahead of their upcoming game.
Once known as a tough defensive outfit, the Grizz are giving up over 100 points per game and with their offense, that won’t get the job done.
They face a Raptors team which won nicely against the Hawks, but they have had their fair share of injury problems. Luis Scola, Terrence Ross and DeMarre Carroll will miss this game and Kyle Lowry was basically on one leg last game.
We still like the Raptors to win against a reeling Grizzles side.
Miami Heat (-294) vs. Sacramento Kings (+242)
Many experts were thinking the Miami Heat would struggle since losing LeBron James, but the results have been fine and they are in a good position this season.
The Sacramento Kings are 30-45 and the news hasn’t improved after their best player DeMarcus Cousins succumbed to an injury against Washington.
Cousins joins Ben McLemore, Rudy Gay and Marco Belinelli on the sidelines and we think the price around the Heat is very good considering.
With players such as Dwayne Wade and Hassan Whiteside, the Heat should be taking this one out easily.
Boston Celtics (+850) vs. Golden State Warriors (-1428)
The Celtics are getting a +12.5 points handicap which we think they can cover against the indestructible Warriors side which are 68-7 for the season.
The Warriors are trying to break the Bulls’ all-time win record and they will likely win this game, but 12.5 is a big head start for a Celtics team which are 43-31 this season.
We must keep in mind the Warriors are without the likes of Festus Ezeli and Andre Iguodala and that will play into the Celtics hand. Their season averages aren’t all too dissimilar so the Celtics should be covering the spread despite playing away from home where the Warriors have not lost this season.
Celtics +12.5 at -109
