It’s Aryna Sabalenka vs Iga Swiatek and Lois Boisson vs Coco Gauff in the French Open semi-finals. See our top picks for the women’s draw on June 5, 2025.
Just four women remain at the 2025 French Open in Paris, with Thursday’s action whittling that number down to two. Top seed Aryna Sabalenka clashes with four-time champion Iga Swiatek in a blockbuster, before world No.2 Coco Gauff takes on French underdog Lois Boisson.
We break down both matches and outline the best bets, including a +300 pick for one of the women’s semi-finals at Roland-Garros.
Sabalenka and Swiatek have played some classics in the past, and the latter has generally held the upper hand in the matchup. She leads the head-to-head standings 9-4 overall and 5-1 on clay.
Tennis bookmakers have Sabalenka as a marginal favorite in this one, however, due to the pair’s contrasting form coming into Roland-Garros. Sabalenka is 34-6 for the year with titles in Brisbane, Miami and Madrid, while Swiatek is 27-9 having not lifted a trophy since this time last year.
Swiatek has played herself into shape over the last 10 days, however. Given her record at Roland-Garros — 26 straight wins — and dominance of this head-to-head matchup, backing Swiatek to edge out Sabalenka is the play.
World No.361 Boisson is a +350 underdog across leading tennis betting sites to take down No.2 seed Gauff. Pulling off yet another upset — she has already seen off top-10 seeds Jessica Pegula and Mirra Andreeva — might be a bridge too far for the local hope, but expect her to go down swinging.
Boisson’s run has not happened by chance. She is playing excellent attacking tennis, has a raucous French crowd behind her, and finds herself against a player who has shown plenty of weakness this tournament.
Gauff will win, but expect a close match with the 20.5-game threshold being breached. Those chasing a slightly higher return could take Boisson to win a set as well, priced at +130 with Stake.com.
