Sunday, May 13 – 3:00p.m Local time – Old Trafford, Manchester, United Kingdom
Manchester United are set to welcome Watford for the final Premier League match of the season that will see all Match Day 38 fixtures kickoff at the same time.
The Red devils secured a second place finish after a barren draw away to West Ham United on Thursday night, that being their highest finish since winning the title during the 2012/13 Premier League campaign; equally Sir Alex Ferguson’s last year at the club.
Even though United have the surety of finishing as runner-up having long conceded defeat to a sensational Pep Guardiola side, settling for second place will not be an option for Jose Mourinho when he fields his charges against Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
Although Man United’s decisive Cup final with Chelsea is in a week’s time, the Old Trafford side will need to pull off a huge result against Watford to set the tone ahead of their trip to Wembley.
United have, by and large, grown in stature this season, having improved on their sixth place finish registered during Jose Mourinho’s maiden season at the club.
They, like many other teams, have had their own shortfalls over the course of the campaign, but their ability to shut out opponents has played an intricate role in their quest for the title; albeit unsuccessful.

Manchester United are the only team in Europe’s top five Leagues not to have conceded more than two goals in a single match all season long; a telltale sign of Jose’s obsession with defensive solidity.
At the heart of things nonetheless has been one David de Gea, who won the Golden Glove with his 18th clean sheet coming against the Hammers.
Seeing as the Spaniard has already secured the accolade with a game to spare, the United boss will preferably start with Sergio Romero between the sticks. The Argentina shot stopper is poised to return to the starting eleven after fully recovering from a knee injury sustained while on international duty in March.
Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have likewise been guaranteed a place in the starting berth having been on the bench against the Hammer, while Michael Carrick will skipper the side in his final match at Old Trafford ahead of his retirement.
Tom Cleverley, Tommie Hoba, Younes Kaboul, and Stefano Okaka are all sidelined for Watford, while Nathaniel Chalobah and Andre Carrillo Diaz could be available for selection.
Manchester United vs. Watford match prediction
United’s main man upfront Romelu Lukaku is ruled out of the tie as he races against time to be fit for the FA Cup final, but the hosts shouldn’t have any trouble going forward given their plethora of attacking players.
The day will be all about Michael Carrick who will without question be handed a befitting send off.
