US Open golf betting picks & best odds | June 12-15

The 2025 US Open is here as 156 of the world’s best golfers descend on Oakmont Country Club from Thursday, June 12.

Considered one of the toughest golf courses in America, don’t be fooled by the lack of trees and water, as the narrow fairways, long rough and lightning-fast greens provide extremely challenging conditions.

World No.1 Scottie Scheffler enters this tournament in incredible form, having won three of his last four starts — including the PGA Championship by five strokes. At +275 with top golf bookmakers, the 28-year-old is the clear favorite.

Reigning US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau is also in the mix at +700. His long driving and excellent putting have been critical as he has finished in the top six in five of his last six majors.

Rory McIlroy (+1300) is also expected to compete after finally breaking his Major hoodoo with a Masters win back in April. However, a major storyline to watch is how he handles a new driver after he tested a few options in the Canadian Open last weekend.

Xander Schauffele (+2200), Collin Morikawa (+2400) and Ludvig Aberg (+2700) are other PGA Tour contenders, while key LIV Golf candidates include Jon Rahm (+1200) and Joaquin Niemann (+2700).

Last time the US Open was held at Oakmont, Dustin Johnson was the winner, but with his form dropping off, don’t expect the American to challenge.

With incredibly tough greens in play, expect the PGA’s top putters to have an advantage here as well — so keep an eye on the likes of Sam Burns, Justin Thomas and Sepp Straka.

Top 2025 US Open betting predictions

Although it seems like a safe pick with little value, the form of Scottie Scheffler is too good to ignore. After an apparent slow start to 2025, Scheffler has proved all the doubters wrong, bringing a level of dominance that has not been seen since the heyday of Tiger Woods. Although his form has tapered off since joining LIV Golf, Jon Rahm remains a threat everywhere. One outsider who is a good chance to contend is Sam Burns. The PGA’s leading putter in 2025, he is fresh off a playoff loss last weekend that suggests he is hitting form at the right time.
