A real test of strength will take place in Birmingham this week when the New Zealand and South African sides do battle at the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.
New Zealand sits comfortably in second position after four matches, including one that was not played due to poor weather.
Times have been tough recently for South Africa as it has had to play some of the best countries, including England and India, early in the fixture.

Both teams’ most recent match was against the bottom country Afghanistan, who are yet to win a match this Cricket World Cup.
Both countries were able to bowl out the Afghanistan batsmen for less than 175, with New Zealand winning by seven wickets and South Africa by nine.
The highest net run rate in the CWC is owned by New Zealand, sitting positively at 2.16, whilst the South African side is a low -0.21.
All past performances aside, the two teams are evenly poised and should put on a good show at Edgbaston.
New Zealand vs South Africa top runscorer odds
Kane Williamson @ +275 with Bovada
Williams has been a consistent contributor for New Zealand with multiple scores over 40, including an unbeaten 79 against Afghanistan. Coming in with confidence at no.3 is a trait that most batsmen would love to emulate, but the Kiwi captain has that ability and uses it to his advantage. Expect him to ease into his innings but remain at the crease for a majority of the match.
Hashim Amla @ +400 with Bovada
For Amla, this World Cup has been a rollercoaster ride. In his opening two matches, the South African veteran went out twice for only 13 and nine. Hashim has found form recently, however, with a 41 against the capable Afghanistan bowlers. With an average just under 50 runs per match, now is the time for Amla to stand up for his nation.
New Zealand vs South Africa top wicket-taker betting
Lockie Ferguson @ +350 with Bovada
The right-arm quick has made a name for himself in this World Cup as one of the fastest bowlers around. Ferguson was able to dismiss four Afghanistan batsmen in New Zealand’s most recent completed game. If the pitch can provide some bounce and swing, the Auckland ace could put a big dint in the South African top order.
Kagiso Rabada @ +250 at Bovada
The future of fast bowling is in safe hands if Rabada stays healthy. At just 24 years of age, the South African speedster is one of the primary bowlers in the World Cup and has proven himself as a great wicket-taker. Pace and aggression are his hallmarks, but Rabada is at his best when he looks for a good line and length.
New Zealand vs South Africa CWC 2019 predictions
Although South Africa has been close in most matches it has played at CWC 2019, the team sits eighth out of 10 in the standings with only one victory. New Zealand is effectively undefeated as it has won every game and had its fourth cancelled due to poor weather. The Kiwi fast bowling will be too much for South Africa to handle.
