Bundesliga 2025/26 season preview

The 2025/26 Bundesliga season kicks off on Friday, August 22, and the title race already looks like a battle between the usual suspects in Germany’s premier division.

With top soccer betting sites offering markets across every angle, Bayern Munich once again headlines the outright board, while Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, and Bayer Leverkusen are the best-backed outsiders. Elsewhere, VfB Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt are tipped as dark horses, while the lower half of the table braces for another survival scrap.

Bayern reclaimed the Meisterschale last season with a 13-point cushion, dropping just three games before adding more depth to an already stacked squad. At -303.03, they are overwhelming preseason favorites, but Dortmund (+500) still carry hope after retaining most of their key players, and a revitalized Leipzig sit at +750.

Leverkusen’s squad shuffle after losing Florian Wirtz and Jonathan Tah sees them priced at +1400, while Stuttgart’s rise has punters sniffing value. At the other end, newly promoted Hamburger SV are early relegation favorites, with Koln and St. Pauli also expected to battle the drop.

Bundesliga 2025/26 outright betting predictions

Winner without Bayern Munich – Borussia Dortmund

If you take Bayern Munich out of the equation, Borussia Dortmund become a very attractive option in the outright market. Niko Kovač’s side finished fourth last season, and they have kept the core of their squad intact while adding depth in midfield with the signing of Jobe Bellingham. With RB Leipzig still searching for consistency and Leverkusen in a rebuild, Dortmund have the stability, attacking talent, and home fortress at Signal Iduna Park to finish second — or better — in the standings.

Top-four finish – Eintracht Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt have quietly built a squad capable of maintaining Champions League football. With a balanced mix of experienced Bundesliga performers and exciting young talent, they’ve strengthened in key areas and still look strong, even after the loss of striker Hugo Ekitike. Stability under manager Dino Toppmöller and a favorable home record at Deutsche Bank Park make them genuine contenders to finish top four again.

To be relegated – Hamburger SV

Hamburger SV return to the Bundesliga for the first time since 2017/18, but survival will be a major challenge. Newly promoted sides are statistically far more likely to go straight back down, and HSV’s preseason form has done little to inspire confidence. Four consecutive friendly defeats, with a 1–9 aggregate scoreline, have highlighted both defensive frailties and a lack of cutting edge in attack.
