It will be a culmination of pomp, color and spite when Orlando Pirates take on Kaizer Chiefs in what is quite rightly one of the fiercest and biggest sporting spectacles on the African continent.

Augustine Mulenga’s debut for Chiefs has been prolonged due to injury, but the 28-year old will have to pass a late fitness test in order to gauge his preparedness for the derby.

Save for Kabelo Mahlasela, who has been struggling with a knee injury, Steve Komphela has a full house ahead of the mouth watering clash at the Calabash.

Pirates are unbeaten in six of their last seven games, with their most recent result being a 4-2 victory over Chippa United.

Chiefs however are on an unbeaten run of nine matches in the Premiership, which would have been a pleasant feat had they not drawn four of them.

The Buccaneers have had a leaky defense this season and have only maintained relevance in the chase for the title due to their forward line that has been working on overtime to outscore opponents.

For the Amakhosi, Itumeleng Khune has been the difference between the sticks and it will take some stone-cold finishing on the day to stop the veteran South African shot stopper.
