Chennai Super Kings betting

The eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League marks the return of two-time champion, the Chennai Super Kings.

The Super Kings are back after a two-year suspension after a long-running drama involving a spot-fixing scandal. India’s former captain MS Dhoni will lead the side this year as the side looks to win back respect and get back to its old winning ways.

Chennai Super Kings have a huge fan base across the country. The franchise was sorely missed by their die-hard fans who had tasted the ultimate success in 2010 and 2011. The Super Kings have also been runners up on four occasions (2008, 2012, 2013, and 2015).

Can Chennai compete in the 2018 IPL tournament?

Chennai Super Kings retained Captain MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Ravendra Jadeja for the coming season. The franchise did not throw any surprises in 2018 IPL auction as they clearly went for experienced players and picked up guys like Faf Du, Plessis, Shane Watson, Dwayne Bravo and Murali Vijay.

Kedhar Jadhav and Sam Billings are also in the squad to maintain bench strength in the batting department. Jadhav turned out to be Chennai’s biggest acquisition as he was picked up for Rs 7.8 crore during the 2018 IPL Auction.

Stephen Fleming is the head coach and Australia’s Michael Hussey will be by his side as batting coach. Former Indian pace bowler Lakshmipathy Balaji will be bowling coach for the franchise.

Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis and Murali Vijay are three premier players in the batting department. Raina has been a prolific run-scorer for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League.

Du Plessis only played two games for his previous franchise (Rising Pune Supergiants) last year. He will keen to play an active role in the side for the coming season. Murali Vijay is one of the most experienced players in the Indian Premier League. Vijay played for Super Kings from 2009 till 2013 and scored 1600 runs in 64 games. He has scored two centuries for the franchise during this time.

Chennai Super Kings have top-quality all-rounders at their disposal with Ravendra Jadeja, Shane Watson and Dwayne Bravo included in the squad for the coming season. Jadeja’s bowling has been superior, but he hasn’t done much with the bat in recent times. Watson will come into this season on the back of splendid form produced for Quetta Gladiators in 2018 Pakistan Super League.

Tips for betting on Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings team management certainly has gone against the norm and selected experienced players for the coming season during IPL auction. We shall make our prediction for top batsman and bowler for Super Kings for the coming season.

Pace bowler Shardul Thakur has been in good form for India in the T20 format and will be geared to do well in this edition of Indian Premier League. Thakur enjoyed a good season with the ball for Rising Pune Supergiants last season and picked up 11 wickets in 12 matches at an economy of 8.55. He will certainly be keen to take more wickets with the new-ball for Chennai in this year’s competition.

Suresh Raina will definitely be the leading batsman for Chennai in the coming season. The Left-handed batsman has been an accomplished T20 player and produced scintillating performances with the bat in the Indian Premier League. He enjoyed a great run with the bat last season and scored 442 runs from 14 matches for Gujarat Lions.
