MONTHLY revenue from sports betting in the state of Delaware rose to US $1.3 million in November.

That marks an increase of around 160 per cent from October’s takings of $500,000, while total money wagered jumped 11 per cent to $16.3m.

The bulk of that figure came through Delaware Park in Stanton, where more than $11.5m in sports wagers changed hands.

Dover Downs took around $2.7m, while Harrington Raceway recorded a little over $2m.

The Diamond State’s gambling venues have accepted around $70m in sports bets this year, with some $50m of that coming through Delaware Park.

Punters have won back $63m, leaving $7m in revenue for the year so far.

Delaware was one of four states that already had some form of sports betting in play before the US Supreme Court’s PASPA ruling earlier this year.

It was the first state to react when the national ban was lifted, with sportsbooks at Delaware Park, Dover Downs and Harrington Raceway open for business from June 5.
