Royal Challengers Bengaluru have surged to the top of the 2025 IPL title betting market after dismantling the Chennai Super Kings by 50 runs on Friday night in what was arguably their most complete performance of the season.

Entering as +110 underdogs at Nags.bet, RCB posted a strong total of 196/7 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, with Rajat Patidar anchoring the innings with 51 off 32 balls.

While Virat Kohli (31 off 30) was steady if not spectacular, the tempo was maintained by Phil Salt (32 off 16) and Devdutt Padikkal (27 off 14), who provided early firepower on a typically sluggish Chennai pitch.

Middle-order cameos from Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma, and Tim David (22 off 8) ensured Bengaluru closed with momentum, racking up 65 runs in the final five overs.

Set 197 to win, Chennai collapsed early under relentless pressure from Josh Hazlewood, who removed Rahul Tripathi and Ruturaj Gaikwad in the opening over to leave CSK reeling at 8/2.

The Aussie quick finished with outstanding figures of 3/21, earning high praise post-match.

“Feeling nice and fresh, as a group tonight we were outstanding,” Hazlewood said.

“Improved from our last game against KKR. Made good use of the conditions and did well as a pace and spin unit. The energy was great, the effort from the fielding group was excellent, saving runs and taking catches. It really lifts us up as bowlers.”

Aside from a fighting 41 off 31 from Rachin Ravindra and a late burst from MS Dhoni (30 off 16), Chennai never got going.

Ravindra Jadeja chipped in with 25, but with wickets falling consistently, the Super Kings limped to 146/8, well short of the target.

Chennai entered the contest as tournament favorites across major cricket sportsbooks, but have since drifted to $7.50 following the defeat.

Bengaluru, meanwhile, now sit at the top of the market at $5, edging ahead of the Sunrisers Hyderabad ($5.50) and Mumbai Indians ($7) as title contenders heat up just a few games into the campaign.
