The San Francisco 49ers put their perfect record on the line heading to the desert to take on the Arizona Cardinals, who had their three-game win streak snapped in their last game.
The undefeated 49ers have the league’s top-ranked defense, but it was their offense that starred in the 51-13 blowout win over the Carolina Panthers. They face the Cardinals twice in their next three games among some tricky fixtures against the Seahawks, Packers, and Ravens.

The Cardinals offense was shut down in their 31-9 road loss to the New Orleans Saints. They did not play either side of the ball and were outgained 510 yards to 237.
The 49ers outgained the Panthers by 158 yards (388-230) and forced three turnovers while only conceding one. San Fran outscored Carolina 28-3 in the first half and Jimmy Garoppolo overcame an early interception to pass for 175 yards with two touchdowns – his first TDs in two games.

Where the 49ers shined in the Carolina win was on the ground, where they rushed for 232 yards. Tevin Coleman rushed for 105 yards on 11 carries, had three touchdowns and also caught a touchdown pass. Raheem Mostert rushed for 60 yards with 41 coming on one play and San Francisco had two runs of at least 41 yards.
Arizona’s run defense will be key in this NFC West matchup. They only rank 25th in the league in that category.
The Cardinals are looking to get over their bad loss to the Saints, but this game does not match up well for them at all. They have a banged-up running back corps and rookie QB Kyler Murray will be facing a 49ers pass defense that ranks first in the league.
Arizona only rushed for 40 yards in the loss to New Orleans, 19 of which came in a single run from WR Christian Kirk. Leading rusher David Johnson was inactive and is unlikely to play against the 49ers, while Chase Edmonds is questionable after leaving the game with a hamstring injury. If they cannot play, new signings Zach Zenner and Alfred Morris will share snaps.
Murray passed for 220 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions in the loss to the Saints and Charles Clay and Kirk combined for 167 receiving yards. Murray only has three touchdowns in his last four games, all coming in one game, and in his last two games has no touchdowns and no interceptions. He has a lot of pressure on him now with Arizona’s top two running backs out of action.
The Cardinals only won three games last season and two of those wins were facing the 49ers.
San Francisco 49ers -9 at -111.11 with Nags.bet
The 49ers are undefeated and coming off a blowout win. On the other side of the coin, the Cardinals had their win streak snapped in their last game and their rushing offense is a major concern. Look for the 49ers to play great defense in this game as they move to 8-0 and also cover the spread.
