Alabama Crimson Tide vs. LSU NCAA blockbuster spread odds & tips
Alabama vs. LSU – 8:00 PM EST, Saturday, November 3, at Tiger Stadium, Baton Rouge, LA
Betting Line: Alabama -14
Over/Under: 53.5 points at 888 Sportsbook
Top-ranked Alabama hits the road to face the fourth-ranked LSU in a big SEC matchup that has huge BCS implications.
There is no lack of NCAA betting options for punters to jump on in this primetime game.
There’s nothing much at stake in this game… except first place in the SEC West and a clear path to a BCS playoff berth.
Alabama is undefeated and LSU has one conference loss and if the Crimson Tide win, where they are big betting favorites at 888 Sportsbook, then they are pretty much in the conference title game since they will have no SEC losses while LSU, and possibly Texas A&M will have two.
Alabama is staked and they have the highest scoring team in the nation, averaging 54.1 points per game and rank a solid 10th in points against per game.
LSU has won two straight since losing their only game of the season and in their last two wins they took out two ranked teams including beating second ranked Georgia. The Tigers have a pretty good offense led by their run game, but the team is led by their defense, which ranks seventh in the nation only giving up an average of 15.1 points per game.
This season Alabama is 8-0 SU with an ATS record of 5-3 and an O/U record of 6-2 and LSU is 7-1 with an ATS record of 5-3 and an O/U record of 5-3.
Alabama is 4-1 ATS in their last five games facing LSU and they are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games facing them on the road.
In their last game Alabama was on the road and they crushed Tennessee beating them 58-21. They racked up 545 yards in the game and only gave up 258 and they had a balanced offensive attack. The team is led by QB Tua Tagovailoa, who has to be the Heisman favorite in this point in the season passing for 2,066 yards with 25 touchdowns and he does not have one interception. He passed for 306 yards in the win over Tennessee with four touchdowns and Jaylen Waddle led the team with 117 receiving yards.
Five players for the Crimson Tide have at least 384 receiving yards and the running back duo of Najee Harris and David Harris have combined for 926 rushing yards and each is averaging over six yards per carry.
LSU ranks 36th in the nation in pass defense and 32nd in run defense and can they keep the Tide at bay even though they are averaging over 54 points per game? Big question.
In LSU’s last game they beat a ranked Mississippi State team 19-3. While they only had 239 total yards and allowed 260 yards they forced four turnovers, on four interceptions, and held the Bulldogs to only 59 passing yards. However, they gave up 201 rushing yards and they cannot let that happen facing Alabama.
The LSU offense was not great in the win over Mississippi State with Joe Burrow only passing for 129 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. The running back duo of Nick Brossette and Clyde Edwards-Helaire did combine for 103 rushing yards, but only averaged 3.4 and 2.9 yards per carry respectively.
The key matchup in this game may be the Alabama run defense against Brossette and Edwards-Helaire, who have combined for 1,218 yards and 15 TD.

Alabama vs. LSU betting prediction
It’s hard to believe LSU is giving 14 points when they are at home and ranked fourth in the nation. However, they are facing a loaded Alabama team than many experts are saying may be the best Crimson Tide team of all time.
Alabama will come out firing in this game and while they won’t totally blow out LSU in their own house, they will win and cover the spread.
